Nets
weather
Dump trucks of corn
1998 baiting birds act
Loss of breeding habitat
To much water
Not enough water
No till farming
We are doomed!!
ETA I’m looking for reports too just couldn’t help myself.. what does cat lake look like? I’ll be there opening weekend regardless. Last year there was 10 ft of water opening weekend and we killed nothing but ring neck and cans.

Haven’t heard much other than the usual rumors of Venice having some decent numbers.

Until we teach ducks to eat sugar cane, we are all screwed.

My hunting buddy is up in South Dakota pheasant hunting and said the ducks were stacked and flooded fields everywhere. Hopefully an extended freeze pushes them down soon. They're still releasing water from northern reservoirs into the MO river and still have miles of standing water south of Omaha. Not good prospects.

Fished in Delacroix Sunday and did not see a single bird around. I don't hunt this area much anymore, but I at least expected to see a sign of life.

Fished Delacroix Sunday afternoon. I saw a few birds but nothing to get me excited. By a few I mean less than 10

Farming practices up there aren’t conducive to ducks anymore. Farmers plow it to moon dust after harvest to get ready For next years planting They are basically flooding dirt with no food for ducks in it.

But there are still people leasing garholes just to have a place to hunt.

If a blind comes up for lease it’s a shithole.

For my son and his friends sake, hoping this front pushes them down in decent numbers. Headed to Venice for youth weekend. Last year youth weekend, the kids didn't fire a shot down river.
