Du puts more ducks in the air and the feeds them so their big money guys can keep hunting big numbers up north the entire season. Would spend my 35$ on another box of shells. Thats my 2 cents

Pretty much sums it up. They are making a killing while we see less and less ducks here.

They keep sending me free address labels and I keep using them. I don't plan to ever join.

They get every cent of the state money from stamps for duck habitats and use it elsewhere. No idea why they would need more money to do the same.

It is truely amazing to me what some people believe, and what they do not understand.

That is why Obama is our president, too.

Seems to me majority of complaints is over membership #'s in a locations and allocation of funds to that location.

That's why I stopped giving to united way, no sense in my money going to some other state, if I give I want it to be used here. Although UW did try to fix that issue since they actually noticed a drop in the donations.

I've known some boys here in SC that one got a great deal on a black lab at a DU auction but I know 2 other boys that got drunk and paid way too much for some dumbass black lab-looking dogs. Basically about $600-$800 bucks for a mutt. Watch the auctions! They are made for some drunk good ole boys.

No organization does more to put ducks in the air than DU.

This

DU tries to preserve the land up north where the birds live most of the year and breed. They also do projects in Louisiana...despite what a lot of naysayers around here think. Louisiana Projects

They also do a lot to involve the kids into the sport which I think is necessary these days (interwebz and iphones). If you don't believe this, go to the greenwing day in Slidell that's coming up and you'll be proved wrong. I went last year with my son.

I know a guy very well that got drunk and bought a dog and brought it home and put the puppy in bed with her that night. One small problem, well two, she horribly allergic to dogs and she was 7 months pregnant.

I think those who think DU is not doing anything in Louisiana are the same ones who believe they have nets, pond heaters, and corn stop hunts for big donors. I'm a pretty big donor to DU and I've never been invited to a corn stop hunt north of the nets in a heated pond yet, and have never heard of anyone who has.

Know the facts.
