Not me. I’m a hunter and love animals, dogs included and killing an animal for something like that is sadistic.

Most years alligators are out in South Louisiana till mid December.
Out and able to get a dog are 2 different things. Once air temps get below 70, their activity reduces substantially. Had one by the pirouge last year when paddling to a spot. 4-5' and he barely could move when I pushed him with a paddle. Chance of eating a dog is drastically reduced in November. Dog getting eaten in November would be an accident. Dog eaten in teal season is an accident waiting to happen in South La.

No, I wouldn't. Thats stupid. Its stupid to suggest that bringing your dog teal hunting in the marsh is the same thing as sicking your dog on an alligator, because that's what you'd be doing there.
Again, yall are being ridiculous. Bringing your dog hunting teal anywhere is not a death sentence. I highly doubt yall are all hunting in spreads full of 6 foot + alligators.
If you're that worried about it leave your dog home with your wife, but don't suggest that someone bringing their dog teal hunting in the marsh is wreckless/dangerous/cruel whatever.

There is a huge difference between a September gator and a December gator.

Maybe it's just me but too many gators out there now. I assume it's the farms putting hunters out of business? I don't know much about it but see tons out of St Bernard.
I agree there are way too many gators. They are over populated in south La. for sure. But it’s not because farms are putting trappers out of business IMO. It’s that our conservation program has worked too well. I don’t think we’ve adjusted our harvest efforts not accommodate market changes (for skins). We’ve just been too successful at breeding and maintaining a healthy gator population and now we have way too many of them.

Judging by the overwhelming amount of downvotes you are getting....ever cross your mind that you might be the one being ridiculous here?

Our guide in Gueydan brings his dog during teal season, but doesn't let him get in the water. He went ape-sh!t last weekend when his dog broke and swam out to get a downed bird.

Nope. You'll get that for saying you leave your dog outside in the brutal louisiana winter around here.
Yall are hating on people for bringing their duck dog duck hunting.

A friend of mine lost her two dogs to a boarding facility fire last week. Terrible.

Do you send your dog to pick up bumpers in the street?

Up here in Georgetown?
Sad events there.

Oh yea all the time. I even let a kid pet mine once while he had a chocolate Easter bunny in his hands. Can't believe I ever had one live longer than a day tbh.

Well, they are. As are a lot of dog owners who treat them like humans.

Maybe, but that's his own business. There are people on this board that throw their dogs birthday parties and have monogrammed pillows for them to sleep on. It's only in the past 30 years or so of civilization that humans have for some ridiculous reason decided that some animals have human characteristics and are now "members of the family." Where is the line drawn between a "fur baby" puppy and a pork chop? I like my dog. I might even love my dog. But it's still a dog. I think disney movies have ruined all of y'all's perception of reality when it comes to the differences in humans and every other animal on the planet.
