If you're fine with Lew's, Pflueger and/or Abu, these should be just fine. Would be good for camp or if you don't mind disposable reels for salt.

I’ve researched this a lot. The least you can spend to get a decent reel is $90, cheaper with discounts and sales, for the Piscifun Alloy M2. Anything less than $90, it gets awfully sketchy on what you’re buying

Doesn’t mean it won’t suck. They’re being discounted at 70% for a reason

Just ordered a couple.
I ain't too proud to buy cheap shite. I'm still fishing with the $20 13 rods I saw on here a few years ago.

I will avoid anything owned by GSM Outdoors like the plague. Quite possibly the worst company I’ve ever done business with. I seriously doubt Dobyns and Phenix will be around in 5 years. It’s that bad

Ehh maybe rods and reels but they own Yamamoto, Roboworm, and Bill Lewis. All 3 are still good.

Well, I bought some Roboworms a month ago, went to take one out of the pack, and noticed every worm had fused together to make one big clump. Had to separate them using a razor blade it was so bad.

I also had them screw me over on a warranty here recently. The rod should have never broken in the first place. I will never ever buy another GSM product again and I think they’ll end up destroying all these good brands they carry

lol. Shimano and Daiwa are just on another level. KastKing has gotten a lot better. They sell the Skeet Reese Icon for $99 and it’s pretty highly acclaimed.

Best damn deal ever. I accidentally hit the buy button 3 x and have a dozen of those rods. No complaints for that rod at all.

I bought two of these reels about a year ago when they got posted on the OB. I think they were 20 bucks each. I use it in the surf in case it gets dunked. Caught a trout with it on Saturday morning off the dock, so its still held up although it hasnt seen much action. Also let my kids use it.

I hate them with a passion. The bought out all the rod making / finish companies and ruined them. They are impossible to do business with as a vendor. They also bought out the company that I have pouring my plastics and they screwed that up too.

I dont know anything about the reels in this thread but GSM really makes things difficult as a vendor

Dobyns is a GSM brand. The reels are made by Doyo.
