if I take a shower with my normal body wash, wash my hair with Head & Shoulders and let my wife wash my hunting clothes with the rest of the laundry I have killed my 2 best bucks with a bow and have not been winded. Nobody believes me but I'm confident in it.

It could be that they are curious about what those smells are. I think all that scent free stuff is overrated. Since the beginning of time deer have been killed without scent free products.

My buddy’s granddad used to smoke and piss off his stand. Not sure he really cared about killing anything though.

Man that's peepaw! Don't worry he kills plenty deer. Wearing coveralls in 90 degree or 0 degree weather.

Piss, all the time.

I read something in a book (real book, not e-book) once upon a time that said the poo-poo of carnivores has a smell that animals can detect as a threat. Somewhat of an evolutionary tool to keep critters from being eaten by bears and such. Y'all should start crapping in your mountain dew bottles and keep pissing off the stand.

Yup. Not with a bow, but I've killed two while pissing. When I say while pissing, I mean shooting without having time to pull it back in.

Bang, flop, finish piss

I been gonna reply to this for five minutes, but every time I read it, I get too tickled and have to quit typing.

I grew up hunting Concordia making it even funnier.

I've shot a buck when I was mid crap with my drawers down. I don't think the smell bothered him, but he didn't like those 30-30 bullets none!

If they seem fazed by it or not, I'd rather not leave any trace that I'm there. I will intentionally run on a calorie deficit and near de-hydration to avoid leaving any trace other than foot prints. Hunting as high as I can and doing my best to hunt the wind. What bugs me about hunting the wind is that deer, at least in my areas, seem to come out from everywhere so I never really "know" if I'm going to be upwind or down wind.

Sometime I get pretty "mad at 'em", but its hard to fathom being so die hard that I starve myself down and hold in my farts while near dehydration.

You do whatever you like man, I'm gonna have a cup coffee.

Dr. James Kroll, aka Dr. Deer, is a wildlife professor at Stephen F. Austin University. He’s made a career studying whitetails. His extensive research on both penned and live deer in various parts of the country corroborate the fact that deer are curious animals, and may come to investigate any new smell that’s in their territory, even human urine.

Can't find it right now, but some study was done on this, and it was found that deer actually investigated human urine more often than deer urine.

It's not like I'm starving and dry as cotton, I just don't eat food that has a proven track record of making me need to shite and I don't drink anything. I've given up coffee on the regular because the caffeine or something in it just messes me up. All I drink on regular days is water or un-sweet tea and I eat a fairly natural food, high protein low carb diet.

Still though, when I took my son hunting the other day my bag was loaded with cookies and juice. I'm not going to torture him with my hunting style.

I would assume just out of curiosity. To me if they smell deer urine, they know "Oh that bitch Tina was over here" vs "Who dat been pissin over there?" with human urine

10-4!

Half the time I'm taking kids anymore, I usually go in with plenty of snacks and modest expectations!
