You were an after thought, that only got thought of as he/she was talking to your mom. You're not in their life, as you've chosen not to be, and they don't want you there anyway.

It's not a big deal.

If you wanted to cause a stink, you could tell your mom to have them personally invite you next time rather than a verbal pass through your mom. But then you may actually have to go... so don't bother, since you don't want to go anyway.

(And your mom was probably just trying to be nice to you by acting like you were missed.)
