I’ve been hunting some family land this year that hasn’t been managed in 10 years. I put up cameras and see deer every day. I’ve also seen deer every hunt I’ve made this year. I want to buy some feeders to put out there but no nothing about quality vs crap. What’s some feeders I can buy locally vs online that I can get a couple of years out of?
Thanks for the suggestions. Made two to try out

Do you have hogs?
How often can you go to the property?

No hogs. Whenever I want. It’s 50 mins. So at least once a week. I’ve been making a couple trips a week this season.

Get some 6” pvc and make some stand up gravity feeders.
A 10’ joint of sdr-35 will make 2 5’ers. Will hold a 50lb bag of corn. Pour another bag on the ground and it will last a week. Just refill when you run your cameras

No pics but
Get a 10’ joint of 6” SDR-35 ( thinner than sch40 )
Cut it in half
Get 4 6” SDR-35 caps for each end
Glue cap on only one side, leave other side unglued so you can put it on and off to fill the feeder.
Get a 1-1/4 paddle bit and drill holes along the outside edge of the cap on the bottom
Ratchet strap to tree and fill up.
I usually put a stick under the feeder to hold it of the ground about an inch. As they eat it will come out.

No problem baw. As long as you don’t have hogs they work great.

I do that but with duct tape - to the tree, cap, etc

If you’ve seen deer every hunt, why change anything?

Bc they don’t hang out. They just pass back and forth between the 2 bigger tracts of land to the north and south. I’ve been dumping bags of corn on the ground the last 2 weeks and put up cameras. Day by day more and more deer started showing up. I think if they had something to keep them coming they would. A 40lb bag of corn on the ground lasts about a day and a half.

south Texas tripods & feeders, high quality, great service, a bit pricy but last forever...

Hate to be a Debbie Downer but your going to turn them nocturnal if just go put bunch of feeders out. Stick one big feeder in center of property. Just take handfuls or small sack and throw out by the stands. This will get them to stop and eat for a minute while passing through. They will make it a habit until you smack one.

I guess we all have our opinions, but that theory does not fly where I hunt, maybe it does in west Texas or somewhere up north with lots of snow and nutrients sources are limited, but around me I do not feel they come to the corn, but instead enjoy some while they are passing through, they have so much to eat around here between acorns, browse and food plots they do not rely on corn for nutrition, now go somewhere that does not have other options and the deer depend on what comes out of the feeder and I can see your point.
