Not La; green jeans like the goddamned gestapo with these gay arse tags. Save the deer is about fining people. Makes me not want to shoot anything.

It’s past time to outlaw feeding and any influx of deer to high fences in LA and MS.

I wish they would outlaw feeding but it has nothing to do with CWD.

I've probably been inside the very pen you're referring to (completely non-hunting related reason). Driving around I was chuckling at how the 100yd/line-of-sight rules for feeders were definitely NOT observed

Nothing bad to say about BD in my short time with him though.

Has there been any confirmed cases in the no-feed zone of Tensas, Franklin and Madison this year? It was like Tensas was a hot spot for a year, but haven’t heard much about it lately.

From what I’ve heard/been told every positive test in Tensas has been from the same hunting club. Borders the river and don’t kill enough deer year after year.

I don’t understand all the fuss about banning feeding. It does absolutely nothing to affect CWD. It helps the deer herd, I don’t care what anybody says. We are just north of the feed ban line. Our mature bucks 5.5 years old and older will weigh 250 to 300#. A big mature doe will weigh 135 to 180#, with an occasional one topping 190#. Deer are going to congregate under acorn trees, in soybean fields, in food plots. There is no stopping that.

Another landowner that is just south of the feed ban line used to kill the same kind of deer we did. Since the feed ban had been in place. His mature bucks weight averages have dropped to 190# and mature doe down to 100#.
Deer feed is a big money deal in Louisiana. You think of all the feed stores and feed suppliers that would go out of business with a statewide ban

WestM,

That landowner has more going on than feeding. Our mature buck weight has been heavier than ever and we are in the CWD Zone.
I agree that baiting most likely isn’t a major spreader of CWD in whitetails. The entire herd shares scrapes, regardless. They share saliva ant the scrapes. And CWD is all over Eastern Wyoming, where baiting has never occurred.

It’s a money grab, they want to expand the no feed zone so they will be able to write more tickets.

Before you call someone stupid cooney, why don’t u do a little research for yourself instead of believing everything they tell you. It’s already been laid out in this thread. Look at Texas, feeding has only made the deer herd better. No decline. I know people way up in the LDWF, who happen to be biologist, who agree 100% with what I said. It’s a money grab, plain and simple. Nobody knows what to do about CWD. They had to do something to look pro active.

They are doing something not to necessarily look or even be pro active, they are making it an issue because as long as it's an 'issue' there will be federal and state funds directed towards it. This is a money train for a government run agency. The more of an 'issue' it is the more funding it will get and the end result will just be some more testing and more positive cases because there will always be more positive cases if there is more testing. This will cause what is exactly happening in this thread and do nothing but cause division and bickering among the hunting community. While we are bickering and arguing more of our tax dollars will go the wildlife agencies with little to nothing actually being done because at the end of the day it really isn't an issue.

Take time and do your own research.

Exactly, it’s about gov growth and control, it always is regardless of the latest threat to health and safety.

This has been proven wrong in LA. Only hotspots are testing positive. You’re being willfully ignorant at this point.

CWD is scrapie. They put infected sheep and deer in the same pen. The deer got infected and of course escaped.

If i were Elon musk I wouldn't own a deer pen unless it were a research facility. It isn't right.
