About to drop way too much money on a new set of waders. Any reviews? Your favorite Chene camo pattern?

They may have fixed the issue but the pockets around the ribs on earlier models were not waterproof and would flood the inside. Not a problem on knee deep water but if you hunt deep its worth seeing if its been addressed.

You’re worried your camo pattern on your waders may flare birds while standing in the water, laying in a layout blind, or sitting in a pit or boat blind?

Got a pair last year in marsh or whatever that pattern is and like them pretty well. I have a pair of Sitka as well and tend to lean words the chene. Full transparency, I don’t wear waders often

Actually I’m not worried about that at all. It was simple question, thanks though.

I bought a pair of the S2's last year in Shadow Grass. Hunt from boat mostly, so dont wear them a ton but when I did I liked them.

I do own a lot of their other gear- shell, several jackets, and bibs. Love everything they make. I appreciate and am willing to pay a little more for a quality product that the manufacturer is willing to stand behind.

But you asked what everyone’s favorite camo pattern was…

On a pair of waders.

Answer the question then.

Love mine. I have olive green and bottomland. I had the charcoal ones but I sent them in to repair and they didn’t have that pattern anymore, so I switched to olive green.

I like their products but it is pretty high. Get what you pay for though.

Camo color doesn’t matter on waders.

I bit the bullet and bought a pair a couple of years ago. Have 2 seasons on them and hunt them pretty hard in the marsh (~30 days a year). I've had no leaks.

I went with them over Sitka because I called both and was more impressed with the warranty/customer service responses from Chene. Last year, the metal hook that fastens the straps to the chest broke, so I finished the season with a carabiner. I sent the waders back to Chene after the season was over and had the repair waders back in less than two weeks. Once I got the waders back, for some reason, the zipper had locked up. I called Chene and they apologized and just told me to send the waders back. A week later I had a replacement pair at the door. Been very impressed with their customer service.

Sure, if you are in a blind. If you aren’t you mimic what you are standing next to.

If you’re wanting to drop that much on waders get the new Sitka’s. My group in our hunting club all had Chene. I’m the only one that still has them. The rest moved to Sitka’s because the Chene don’t hold up. We aren’t anymore or less abusive than anyone else. We hunt brakes flooded rice and timber so at least I feel like it’s a Chene issue.

I don’t particularly care for any of their patterns….but if I had to choose one it would be shadow grass, simply because it most closely matches my hunting area.

I have become a fun of just using dark solids (brown) for hunting

I'd never pay that much for some damn waders. Give me the old Red Ball brand brown ones for $75. This outdoor companies have lost their damn minds. Show boat hunting! SMDH.

Treestand, but we wear them in flooded timber.

I have the Chene solid cypress color waders for several months now and they have been good so far. Great quality and good fit.

I use mine all the time at my camp, even outside of hunting season due to sketchy areas around our boat lunch.

How do y'all pronounce Chene? It sounds like most people say "shin" which I do not think is correct for oak in french.

I call BS. It takes a lot of work to be more abusive to a pair of waders than me or the guys that work for me. I didn’t know Sitka had changed their waders, so I can’t attest to them. If Sitka could/can compete with Chêne in customer service, then I would gladly say they are the top 2 brands to beat.

Pronunciation is Chen like “shin”. French word
