I am thinking about a cell trail camera. My budget will keep me in the entry level category. The only thing I have heard numerous time is "don't get a Spycam". I have heard a few good things about the Muddy and the Stealth. I have seen a new unit from Tactacam that just came out (Reveal X Gen 2.0). Can anybody give any advice on what is out there in the entry level category?

Tactacam is the ONLY way...trust me I've spent way too much money on other expensive brands just for them to be shitty

I just saw a YouTube on the Tactacam Reveal X 2.0 vs Reveal XB (no glow/flash). Sounds like the XB is the was to go on even $ ($120 BPS). The XB also has GPS integrated and the no glow flash is nice. Also, the XB has 24MP vs 16MP on the 2.0.

Running 16 spypoint micros. Look at my previous posts. I know people have problems but I haven't run in to any that an over the air firmwave update didn't fix.

The Tactacam Reveal cameras are cellular and do require you to link the images to your phone. It states that you can use AT&T or Verizon. I have never done this, so I have no idea what the cost is. You do need to download the Tactacam app on your phone also, but I believe that is free.

I have 5 stealthcam fusion x

Have had them just over a year now. They have been pretty good.

One thing to consider, that I did not, is the cost on the cell plan.

I'm paying $70/mth on 5 cameras.

I need to research and see if I can do better with another brand. I don't mind paying more for the camera if I can get a cheaper cell plan.

That being said, I've been very happy with the cameras I have.

I have the Cuddelink system, 3 cameras, and do not have a complaint about the cameras or system. $40 unlimited for up to 16 cameras. With that being said, the place I hunt is too big for them, and our bow stands are too far apart with too much interference, ie trees, thick wrp, levees, etc. If there were on a concentrated piece of property they would be great. I added a jumper and that helped, but just not enough when stands are at a minimum of 500 yards apart, most 7-1000 yards.

If you go with Tactacam, then make sure to read which type of SD card to use. They are pretty specific in the instructions and it has caused me issues before. Other than that - no complaints about my Tactacams.

Tactacam is the best in the game right now. Extremely reliable, batteries last, more options to hook up external power sources, and excellent pic quality. The app is light years better than spypoint, plans are cheaper, and I have never been asked to update any shitty firmware.

Left spypoint and went to a tactacam reveal. It's been flawless.

ive been having 4 spypoint micros out for 3 years - change the batteries every couple months - other than that, they've never given me any issues. Well worth the $100.
