It seems like every year celebrity hunters get charged with hunting violations. You would think that after so many TV hunters have lost their careers because of it they would be extra careful to follow the law. The latest celebrity hunter to be charged with a hunting violation is Gregg Ritz of Hunt Masters. Who has been charged in Missouri for illegally killing a deer over bait and wonton waste. The two charges were filed in Boone County, MO on January 2, 2020.

The article I linked below goes into full detail. I think what irritates me the most is the fact that, Missouri has a hunters for the hungry program set up so you can give the entire animal away and it can feed the people who need it.

Sadly, it’s becoming more and more clear to me that the majority of the industry hunts like this. I also come away with a little laughter because these guys act like they’re some type of superior hunter when they’re just like everyone else.

Completely ridiculous. I have quit watching hunting shows. Except for meat eater.

I can understand the desperation and bad choice to bait. I don’t sgree, but understand.

The compete waste of the animal is unforgivable

What a schmuck. Take his hunting rights for several years. He doesn’t deserve them.

Celebrity hunting almost completely turned me off of hunting until I found Meateater. Watching Buck Commander and they are just killing deer after deer and yelling stuff like “I just gave him a dirt nap!” “That number 10 this year!”

I went to his Facebook page and there is a letter on a law firms letter head claiming that he has pleaded not guilty to the charges and such.
Now I’m not taking up for him but maybe he’s not guilty, I mean if you read charges it’s a confident informant. Maybe he was set up maybe the CIs had a grudge and were paid by buscices to get all Ritzes advertising dollars!!!

The best thing you can do is stop watching all that shite. Even that meat eater fig is selling something.

Used to be that the corn had to be gone tens days before hunting season. Never used it because deer and turks are like weeds on my farm. But since cwd you’re not supposed to feed them at all though not sure about Boone county.

Interesting use of a period where a comma was needed.

And what's so bad about wasting a wonton? I rarely eat them. (The citation actually spelled it correctly: wanton.)

I have been completely turned off by by deer hunting shows on commercial TV. Most are canned hunts on "preserves", showing more bucks in a morning, than we will ever see in the wild. The "star" of the show drives up, looks at film of the target, gets footage for his show, and off to the next setup. I find myself watching Youtube videos more as many are entertaining even though not polished. "The Hunting Public" is nice to watch. A group of Yankees doing deer drives and hunts. Shooting does and bucks for meat and fun. You remember, the way we used to hunt before TV shows got people obsessed with scores and trophies.

Yep, screw tv hunting shows. I had an opportunity to be part of a hunting/fishing show but turned it down because I am not about to turn my 'get away from stress/work into a stressful job.
