I hunt almost exclusively SE Alabama so the coldest I'm usually dealing with is the upper 20s. That's handled with Under Armour base and sweatshirts. Have a few expensive cold weather gear for the occasional severe cold or trips out of the area.
As far as camo, whatever is on sale. And I try to purposely mismatch my trousers and shirts to break up the outline even more. But any camo pattern is pretty overrated, anyway.

I was happy I had my Sitka gear in Kansas a couple of years ago. 2nd week of Nov, 2 degrees and snowing! I rarely wear it around home.
I was there that same week. It was brutally cold! Killed a solid 8 pt

You go on boring hunts.
I use FirstLite. 35% off with military discount makes it reasonably priced for the quality

I go on eBay and buy vintage mossy oak or duxbak made in USA camo. Lot of good camo for cheap.

Mostly Badlands with some First Lite. I think I have a few Midway USA brand stuff that barely gets used.

Went to grade school with one of the founders of Kryptek so I have a good bit of their stuff but that’s the only real name brand stuff I have.

IF you are invested in a particular area, and let alot of deer pass, only after the mature bucks,
then yes camo is important. Mainly enter and exit slips, and quick mid day short go-see scout walks, you do not want to constantly be seen by non target deer, especially does.
These does will draw outside bucks during rut, and if you keep pressuring them by being seen, you could make them move. Then, no reason for big bucks to come.
So, overall stragety, yes blending camo is important.
The biggest question is, does your pattern blob out at 80 yards ?
Most of the Predator patterns do not. The original Mossy Oak Obsession was excellent. The NWTF revision is ok, but not like the original.
I can tell you Mossy Oak Greenleaf fails the blob test. The 1990's Mossy O Full Foilage was excellent. The current US Navy woodland digital is excellent. Marine Marpat not so much.
Realtree Max 5 is excellent in bottomland hardwoods.
I have recently tested the New Mossy Oak country DNA. It is working well, and did not blob at a distance.
Of course, the Sitka green digital is excellent.

Yep. I’m just furious.
Sorry you don’t understand sarcasm.
TBH I’m still wearing the same camo I did 20 years ago and don’t know what brand it is. But most of the time I wear blue jeans or carhartt overalls and a jacket I got cheap 10 years ago from a tip on the OB.

I typically “ run” the following “kit”
Bow season
Snake boots
Brown carhartt or dickie dungarees
Wicking T-shirt or vented camo fishing shirt
Face mask of cheapest camo
Camo hat from oilfield vendor.
First frost
Merino wool or underArmour base layer
Under Armour hooded sweatshirt
Same carhartts
Lacrosse green insulated boots
Drake green windproof vest
Cabelas wooltimate pants and jacket if needed.
I have killed multiple deer rifle/bow/recurve that never knew I was there in wranglers and a brown carhartt jacket.
I have used the above for over 30yrs Hunt the wind don’t move and hunt where deer are. 90% of the people buying high dollar camo don’t need it. Ultralight wicking camo is for multi day backpack trips not really needed to drive a buggy and park 100 yards from a redneck with a mr buddy.

No, I really do.
I guess it’s a pet peeve of mine when people gripe about how other people spend their money. I still have camo that I had 20+ years ago. I don’t wear it though. I have much better stuff now.

How old is your set? I notice a big difference in quality between my pants and jacket. The jacket is about 6 years newer. Seems lighter. My only gripe with them has been when I'm trying to walk through briars.
I just ordered the Solitude bibs and jacket. I'm crying. I didn't even spend that much on my boat, bow, or fourwheeler.

My wife started buying me the sitka stuff for presents, I rolled my eyes at first. I have been shocked at how comfortable it is, how quiet, and how well it fits. Sleeves are perfect for bowhunting, pockets where pockets should be and no other bull shite. Zippers and snaps work, hood works and doesn't get in the way.
Their mid weight stuff is the tits for around here.

Thats what sets sitka apart from everyone else. Like i mention in my post on page 2, everything from sitka is laid out perfectly and little touches like magnetic clasps that are silent or the grunt tube holder so you can grunt hands free (even though i dont ever use one)

My jacket is at least a 2010 cus I took it to Montana. Pants not sure bought them a few years later, they are very warm an I hArdly ever wear the pants maybe twice a year in se la and I almost only hunt climbers or lock ons. Yeah they pick up cockerburrs like a frickig poodle.
Was in Montana and guess what they wear,, wranglers, carhartt, Filson wool. They kill deer to

I’ve felt about as cold on a 34 degree rain day in the Deep South as I have in a Wyoming snow storm. If hunting is important to you, get the best quality clothing you can afford.
Sitka is awesome and I like the camp pattern. I’ve used cabelas Berber fleece for years. I like it, but it can be a bit bulky.
Mossy Oak for early archery and turkey hunting.

The First Lite Solitude kit that I ordered because of this thread came in yesterday. With what I spent on it I ended up wearing it to bed and to work today. Seems really well made. I really like the pocket locations and the way the hood is designed.
I'm 5'6" 165 lbs, built like a brick. Medium fit me perfectly on both the bibs (they're a little long but that's normal for any clothing I buy) and the jacket. It's loose enough to where I can put some layers under it but tight enough in the arms to where I can easily draw a bow. You can tell they gave a lot of thought to the pocket locations. Any camo I had before you could tell they just took normal clothes and made them camo. The pockets on the bibs are located so that you can easily access this without much movement when sitting down.
