Like others said. Tools basic ratchet and socket set, screwdrivers, cresent werench, pliers.
Toilet paper - yes
I would recommend a sweatshirt or thin slicker suit when the weather gets colder/nastyier than expected.

Beer too. Keeps them colder than a can in a coozie.

A cheap Taurus .22lr revolver in a holster mounted up high to the inner wall inside the console for easy access, so as to not be buried in other crap that will inevitably fill up your console.

Unfortunately I will need to store it at a storage place about 5 mins from my house. We have a rear entry garage with alleyways, so can't get it in. The place is covered but open air. Still looking for a place that it could be fully enclosed.

I want to be able to check out the different lakes to see what we like best as well as practice launching, trailering, etc.

Disagree on this. Expected to use mine all the time, but think we used it once in the last 2.5yrs.

You're the exception then, not the rule. Had one on my last boat and the wife and kids absolutely loved it. And I used it several times when a pop-up shower rolled in.

Highly recommend a bimini.

Spare fuses in every size in your fuse box and needle nose pliers

First Aid Kit

100' of spare rope

Multimeter

Wet Wipes

Milk Crates to help keep your categories of shite segregated inside the center console

Is this a fishing boat or a family fun cruising boat? It is capable of both, but what is the primary use?

Please be sure to video all of this and post here, the good, the bad the ugly. Hopefully you have an experienced friend/acquaintance to teach you these things. Start your practice in a large parking lot, not at the ramp.

Eh, don’t know on that it really depends on how he plans on using the boat. I only used mine a few times and ended up just taking it completely off. If the boat is gonna be used for fishing 90% of the time it will get in the way. I can also say that I don’t see very many center consoles with their bikini tops put up while fishing only occasion I’ve seen them is when folks are pleasure boating.

Oh man, I should put out a video on this. Probably a lot of what I'll say has already been said so I'll try to focus on the things you need for maintenance which is what you'll be doing a lot of.

What I keep at home
Good electrical pliers
6 guage wire
6 guage butt connectors
Heat shrink tubing
Heat shrink butt connectors 10-16 guage
Heat gun
Water proof battery charger

What I keep on the boat
Voltage tester
Portable car battery jumper
Silicon packets - put these inside of anything you keep in the boat.
Towels with carabiners
Rechargable hand warmers
Portable tool set
Backup trolling motor remote
Backup reels
Snacks that can stay safe to eat for a long time
Inflatable PFDs - Use way less space, just as safe.
Water bags. These use basically no space and get smaller as you drink them, saving lots of space.

I'll stop there, there's so much more. To me the key things besides the big ticket items (gps, trolling motor, etc) is the stuff you need to have to fix things that break while you're out there and the things you have to have without using a ton of space. Space is at a premium on almost all boats, and things break all the time.

Good luck, it's a life changing purchase.

Yep. Honestly, mine is probably 75% fishing and 25% island squatting. Even when we just ride and what not, we just don't use it. Took it off and put it in the garage 2yrs ago and hasn't moved since.

I’ve been happy with Minn Kota, a few issues but that’s to be expected on a boat with any moving parts. I have the auto-deploy Ulterra and think I would buy a manual deploy if I bought again. You will want a 24V minimum, possibly a 36V.

They are awfully proud of the new Power Pole and Garmin motors. I’ve been told to stay away from MotorGuide but no direct experience.

Also get a slide out plate for the TM, allows you to remove if you’re just family boating and you can slide it back so it doesn’t protrude off the bow. I really like this one

Great tips everyone.

These are some of the things that the boat already has:

Bimini top
Ski tow bar
Simrad NSX9
Suzuki 150 HP

Big ticket items would be TM and Power Pole. Probably will get a TM first to see how the works out for our needs. What about trim tabs? Are they a future must have item?

Smaller needs are anchor, safety equipment, dock lines.

I was going to get one of those round locks for the trailer until I could get a good trailer lock.

I saw some other items that looked optional but would make things easier/fun.

Lithium LiFePO4 batteries
Circuit breakers close as possible to each battery.
Switch panel

Good one. Folks underestimate the damage that that garbage ethanol will do.
