Looking for something different than another AR and a heavier bullet than a 5.56. The BRN180 comes pretty much complete and I could trick out the AK the way I want. I already have two stock AKs and magazines.

NB4 both

I could get a PSA Jakyl or all 3. So many guns, so little time.

Have a friend who has the BRN and he loves it. He is a big AK guy to boot. I tried an AK and they are bad arse I just prefer the AR platform.

My AK came with a small pic rail on the end for a light, laser, etc. I believe you can find those that fit over the barrel.

Why not a CMMG MK 47? AR platform and controls, uses standard AK mags and heavier caliber.

I am an AK guy, although I have 5 ARs, and the CMMG is my next purchase. Would the BRN take AK mags or proprietary mags? Love my Sig 556xi Russian because of the folding stock and it takes all standard AK mags.

If you already have an AK and just want to add to the collection, I would go BRN.

Good luck!

Have u considered the psa ks47. I’ve shot a ton of pigs with it, it’s affordable and very accurate.

BRN is nice

AK's are tanks

I am an AK guy.

For those looking for rail options, do you have a side rail? RS regulate has excellent options for just about any side rail AK... and most of them have one...

Something about the ruggedness and simplicity of an ak.

my BRN is hands down my favorite rifle in my collection. I have ak's and the BRN is just more fun to shoot no questions asked.

Their Alpha series has me wanting to trick out an AK. I'm going to get a bare bones AK from PSA and build it from there. ALG trigger, Midwest Industries stock, top cover and fore end.

Brownells had their BRN180 in 7.62x39 on sale for $649. Couldn't resist myself.

Look into Ultimak rail which replaces front top handguard.

Also, if you have the quick detachment on the left side of the receiver there are several mounts that will fit and work well.

I have two of the Gen 2's mine have been very disappointing. Each time I take them out I break extractors = FTE or if not the extractor I have had FTF issues. Steel case may be the cause but not according to anyone else I have spoken to that owns one.

What has your experience been? How many rounds do you have through yours?

When mine shoot they are great with a red dot. I have two new bolts from them but haven't wanted to take them out as I have gone through 4 bolts already. Thankfully they provide a lifetime warranty but... I'm not really interested in owning a "club." I have a bat light for that.

I have several AK's, if you're looking for something with a heavier round there's only one correct answer: FN-FAL. I have three

ETA:

I take that back, there are TWO correct answers the other is M1A
