Anyone have any experience with Branson Tractors. Thinking about buying a smaller loader backhoe. The prices I have been getting are better than Kubota and the Branson engine is supposedly a Cummins or a Cummins design. Use will be light in nature, moving gravel, some light grading and digging. Any insight appreciated.

Branson is made by TYM tractors out of Korea so I doubt they have a Cummins engine. I heard the Branson line is ending and will be combined TY tractors so parts may be questionable sometime in the future

I’d stick with a name that’s been around awhile. Kubota, Deere, NH, and Mahindra all make good machines.
I have a Kubota that I can get parts for and it’s a very good chance the dealer will be around for many years. I’d avoid the small tractor lines that are sold at used car lots , portable building dealers , or the like . Take a look at the shop where your tractor will be worked on. A lot of the small “dealers “ are quick to sell but cannot stand behind their products with parts or service. A tractor that you can’t get parts for is a yard ornament.

Parts and service for the lifetime of the tractor are always concerns with B-list tractor brands. A tractor is a lifetime purchase, unlike a car, boat, SxS.

Branson tractors are no more. TYM quit marketing that line at the end of last year or the start of this year. They are the exact same thing as the TYM branded items sold at TYM dealers and from my understanding TYM is going to keep support the customers for years to come.

TYM is a pretty big manfacturer and made/makes tractors for companies like Branson, Rural King, Big Boy, etc..

Cummins did in fact supply their engines. Under the TYM branding Yanmar is the engine supplier.

If you do it right it just hurts one time. Get a name brand you can trust without asking

Cummins made engines for kukje that are in Bransons. Not all TYM have yanmars. Alot of the larger HP have Deutz. I have a Branson and have been extremely impressed with it.

Before buying check with a LS Tractor dealer. They are great tractors and priced less that kubota or JD.

As gents have said, Branson is now TYM and they are largest tractor manufacturer in S. Korea.

Mahindras are great, especially with Mitsubishi diesels, HOWEVER, getting parts is often difficult.

I have a Branson/TYM. It’s the 5520. Has been a good machine and has handled all I’ve needed it too. Can’t speak on the backhoe but if you’re going to be doing a lot of loader work go with the hydro transmission. Clutching back and forth gets to be a pain after a while. Put 90 hours on it in less than 3 months.

Only negative so far is it’s a light machine.

Do you have your tires fluid filled? I'm glad I'm not the only one who is impressed with this brand. I compared each brand and it seemed like i was getting a lot more tractor for a lot less cost.

I've never read anything bad about Branson/TYM tractors before, only great things. I would make sure any tractor I buy has a good dealer within a couple of hours in case something goes wrong and to get parts.

I have a "B List" tractor: LS and it's been a great tractor! 2013 with 500 hours on the Mitsubishi diesel that has been rock solid. It's identical to the New Holland tractors (LS makes New Hollands tractors) and parts are really easy to get online.

Dad had one, nothing but problems. Took his lumps, bought a Deere, never looked back

It was a larger Branson, about 40 hp IIRC
