Y'all might have solved my problem. This seems like exactly what I was looking for
Ranger RB 190.

The op asked a question about buyers remorse and I answered it in my honest opinion. I’ve owned one CC in my life and couldn’t wait to get rid of it after the first 2 hours of fishing it.
To the op, good luck fishing 4 in anything other than a monstrosity of a boat. Have your hook extraction kit and peroxide ready. Unless it’s gonna be all grandma overhand casting at open water then everyone may survive

The Rangers are nice. That rig will be over your budget though. Once you option it out and put the correct motor size then add TTL.
It’s priced with a 90 hp outboard. You are gonna want a 115 at least or a 150.
ETA: looks like 115 is Max hp for that model. Looking at the build out sheet you’ll probably be sitting around 32-33k before TTL. So long as you are good with that.

Will be a great boat. Only thing I will say is to avoid dark colors on the interior It’s going to get real hot
Also not a fan of carpet but your wife might be
I have an 18 and we fish 4 often It’s not the most comfortable but it works. My kid is always in the front deck with me even if it’s just us two usually one in the back and someone standing in the middle. If we are in a bream bed where everyone is casting the same way I typically just bait hooks and take fish off
Regardless you are going to have bigger boat fever and I don’t think that ever goes away. 19 will work for you

That looks nice but if you going to fish 3 people (2 growing boys) often get a 115. As far as the ole lady sunning. Just get a cushion from a lawn chair and bring it along when the wife wants to sun.
You could look for something used. 22-24' Bay Boats have enough storage.

Honestly, being a poor teacher/coach my whole life has probably helped me because I was always content in my Bass Tracker Pro 16. Undersized and underpowered has never been an issue.
Also, I really think the times that all 4 of us are aboard will be few and far between.

Chalk another win up for Tigerdroppings. I can't tell you the number of times over the last decade I've gotten good help from the different boards. Had my arse popped a few times in the OT too, but c'est la vie!

I listed an 07 21' Kenner Vision on La Sportsman last week.
Search KemoSabe65 to find, most boat for the money you will find right now. This is not my boat but a buddy's and is garage kept.

Explain to me, like I’m a child, how having a monolith sticking up in the middle of your boat that you have to walk around and cast over makes it fish better.

And those 2 boys will grow even bigger, adding even more weight and cramping space.
Center console sounds like the ticket.

You are to be admired for wanting to get the kids involved in the outdoors, BUT, there is no such thing as a forever boat. As your kids get older and interact with other kids doing other water based activities you will want/need to have something different. ie: water skiing , wake boarding, tube pulling, etc. With children as young as you have a day fishing can be as stressful an activity as you can get. You will learn a day with them is all about them not you and mom. Leave all your stuff home and enjoy everything you have to do make the day enjoyable for the kids. Do this and you keep them take a doing things with you for a long time. Been there and done all that.

DTRooster sounds like a HOOT!
I’m in the same “boat” with kids and wanting to get out and fish and went with an 18’ express center console. I wanted aluminum because I knew it would get beat up between frogging and jug lining and docking by myself and didn’t want to worry about that with glass. I went with center console because I don’t like sitting down so low while driving like a bass boat. Is the CC “in the way” sometimes? Yes, when trying to cast side arm under trees. That’s it. It’s equally in the way, though, as the outboard/power pole hanging off the back and trolling motor in the front. If you can manage with those, you can handle casting in a cc.
This one won’t be my final boat but it’ll do for now until my kids get older and we legit fish 3 or 4 at a time, then I’ll get a custom 22’ aluminum CC.

Yea like the SW guys who run around the bays with binoculars and see you catch a fish next thing you know you are casting in their boat they are so close to you are any better!
Buying a newer boat that Fishes 4 people comfortably, with a budget under 30k, ain't going to be easy!

A CC console bay style is better to pull a tube or kneeboard around with too.
Posted on 3/25/21 at 3:05 pm to Coach72
Look at the Avid bay boats. I have the 23fs but you can probably get into a smaller one in your price range. Nicest aluminum boat IMO, people don't realize it is aluminum most of the time until I mention it.

I just tell how the cow eats the cabbage the way I see it
My boat doesn’t have carpet and it’s done all that and add crabbing and hoopnets. It’s no carport queen and has well earned scars to prove it. Glass boats aren’t as fragile as some believe and a bass hull is certainly not more fragile than a glass CC

In my experience glass boats are much tougher than aluminum ones. If you want a tank if an aluminum boat it will have to be custom built. The mast produced ones are almost all beer cans.
