This is what I have read and heard for a while. What if it is really dark blue, almost black?

Killed my biggest buck this past season wearing light blue jeans sitting in a lawn chair at ground level from 80 yards. He was never spooked. Take that for what it's worth.

When they brought deer from Wisconsin to North La (years ago) rumors of a bluish coat were reported.

At one of our camps "Ole Blue" was the prized big buck that was never killed, or probably seen. But dreamed about by many :)

I have killed several in wrangler blue even with a bow.I don’t think they like skinny jeans though.

Its been said that the color blue has the longest wave lengths. It makes the color blue the brightest to deer and it stands out more. Im no eye doctor so I cant back any of that but if im sitting in a tree and a deer is looking up then maybe a sky blue dickies jumpsuit may be great camo

You ever had an old pair of camo pants that were so faded they looked blue? If you look at somebody wearing something like that in the woods it’s obvious why that whole thing started. It really stands out. I don’t think it has anything to do with the actual color blue

Black is the best all around camo IMO.

I've killed a pile of deer in jeans and a t shirt. Deer see movement. If you don't move, you could have on a Chicago bears uniform, helmet and all and they wouldn't see you

Deer can see deeper shades of blue, but just because they can see it doesn’t mean they will be alarmed by it. Lots of things likely look blue to them. The trick has always been contrast to break up your outline, sitting still, and not wearing things that are overly reflective that accentuate movement.

FIFY. Also, I'm still not real sure what OP is asking.

I was gonna refer to the old High School "Roy G Biv" which is from longest to shortest wavelength in the human visible spectrum.

There's a reason why Fire Dept's switched to Yellow over Red vehicles and not to opposite end spectrum with Violet or Blue. At both ends, low light visibility fades faster making them harder to see.

Sooo, if there's difficulty seeing something as big as a fire truck going down the road at dusk and dawn ...

But, the more faded the blue jeans, the more they would be moving to the mid spectrum and more visible.

I've been told that something in blue jeans gives them some goofy reflective qualities that are easy for deer to pick up. I think its all mostly BS. I stand by my theory, you could have on jeans with a clown suit upper and wig and as long as you are still and don't smell like people, you aren't spooking deer.

I've killed a deer with my bow in jeans and a t shirt with my boots/lower pants soaked in diesel right after work one day. I've also had a deer stare me straight in the face from about 150 yards away and haul arse. Some times you get busted and some times you don't.

I would let a blue deer walk and hope for a brown one to come along.

Man in some of our box stands its harder to not get busted than sitting on the ground. There is ALWAYS a doe staring at it just dying to start making a commotion. Sometimes they just show up blowing and stomping and shite. Fortunately the other deer ignore it sometimes. They are like "ah look ol Suzy is being a dramatic bitch again about nothing." I bet they do that shite all night too

I get more joy out of shooting that doe with a bow than any buck I've ever killed.

What do you think hunters used for clothing before Mossy Oak and Realtree. My grandfather hunted only in dark olive green or dark navy pants and shirts well before camo came into existence. He did so setting on a folding stool at the base of a tree. No blinds or treestands on the market during this time. He scouted and found the deer trails, and set up off of them. His words of wisdom when taking me as a youngster, you got to "be still and don't move, and if you do move do it s-l-o-w-l-y"!

He had more antlers hanging in his barn rafters than I've ever seen.
