Soles on my non-steel toe Justins didn't make it a year. Separated in the front on both boots.

Dont know what kind of work you do but I do alot of metalworking and plumbing. The best safety boots I have ever had are called metatarsals. They actually protect your whole foot. Old school steel toes will crimp your toes right off if something heavy enough falls on them btw so I would go with a composite toe.

After years of comparison, the best one for my foot is the Georgia pull on. I doubt I'll ever buy another.

Have worn wolverine/durashock for probably 20 years. Others weren't as comfortable.

I have some Timberland Pro steel toe slip-ons that are as comfortable as any shoes I own. I don't need them often now, but I wear them around the camp all winter.

I wear Justins pull-ons, but if you're walking on a good bit of uneven terrain, get lace-ups. I have Red Wing loggers that have a couple thousand miles on them and are still in decent shape

What abt climbing ladders?

I'm leaning more towards lace ups.

I wear ariat workhog waterproof steel toes. They are the most comfortable shoe or boot that I have.

I'd get a lace-up. They are just flat out more stable. Pull-ons are just for regular walking IMHO.

You don't need a full logging boot because they are pretty heavy, but I'd get something taller than 8". My loggers are 12" and I couldn't roll my ankle if I tried

I've been wearing Doc Martens for the past 5 years and I won't be going back to wolverine or Georgia. The steel toe slip on shoes are less bulky/heavy than other boots to me.
