So I really like the design of the yeti hopper and the glue on my Rtics have failed and I am tired of shoe gooing them back.

With that said frick paying $350 for the yeti.

What do you recommend for similar style and durability of the Yeti? I am interested in the icemules but can't tell if they are glued seams or not.

I’ve got a yeti and a RTIC soft side. I hate the Yeti because it’s the old kinda that’s a pain in the arse to get into. My RTIC only gets used during hunting season and it’s held up fine for several years. With that being said I’ve got one of the hard K2 coolers that I tend to use more because it’s more durable and I can use it as a hunting seat for doves.

I made the mistake of letting the sun hit the soft Rtic the other day, literally 5 minutes and the whole top came unglued.

I will never buy a cooler with glued seams again. Got these on sale.

I agree with this. I really like my RTIC soft cooler but the fact that it can’t be in the sun sucks. I have been through two already. RTIC has warranted them both but you would think they would have changed designs by now

I've had good luck out of our Frio 9 can. They're $83 and made in Texas. Fits perfect in golf cart basket. Going on 5 years or more with it, with no problems. Cold for 2 days, plenty for me. LINK

The top seams on my Rtic soft cooler also came unglued. Fortunately, I have a Yeti Hopper (old style) and Yeti backpack cooler that I can use.

Check out IceMule coolers. Their least expensive models are roll top backpacks, but they work.

Also, since a lot of places give away Yeti products as promotional items that some people don’t need or want, a good place to look for new Yeti items at a discount is on EBay. Just research the seller to make sure you’re not getting counterfeit or used.

I have both of the Orca soft coolers and love them both. I had the first gen of the RTIC and the zipper was the worst.

Polar bears are good. I was given one by a vendor years back and it's been great

I have an Rtic, and the seams have come apart, like so many others have said. Been using E6000 to patch it and it is looking pretty ratty at this point. It is living out the rest of its numbered days as a backup cooler.
I purchased an Engel 30 soft sided cooler over a year ago, and so far it's been excellent. It keeps ice a helluva lot longer than the Rtic did.

I appreciate all the input, I will definitely look at the Frio.

Aren't the Engels and Orcas even kore expensive than the Yetis?

Leaks like a MFer at the zipper. Have 2 of them, but rarely use for that reason.

I have the original Yeti Hopper. Works great, but the shape isn't good like the newer ones. I've also got 2 RTIC soft sides and have never had the seam come unglued. Use one of them on the boat/beach often too.
Got an igloo backpack cooler that is surprisingly great, but doubt it will hold ice too long.
I am a cooler hoarder...

I have a rtic soft cool and the lid is coming undone. It stays inside only and I’ve never left it out. I mostly use it for keeping meat off the smoker warm and occasionally for drinks when we go on a trip . Need to find something to replace it I guess
It’s still in good shape other than the lid/top.

A couple that have been mentioned:
AO Cooler, Polar Bear (thicker insulation than the AO) and Engel

Another to look into:
Titan Deep Freeze. Looks like a new model is out… I have a Titan RF soft side that I use to hold drinks on trips… it’s similar to the older zippered Yeti design.

Went with an 18can Frio, if I get a smaller one I am going to try an IceMule. I got the small ones for all my groomsmen and all have liked them so far.

Facebook Marketplace, or there's Facebook groups that sell used ones for cheap. Buying a cheap used one with warranty left is what I'd do

Threw away 2 rtic soft cooler a few weeks ago. Zippers we’re stuck and then the material ripped on both of them
