He’s a hiroller so I would suggest building a safe room.

I’m poor so mine came from Tractor Supply. It’s a pretty good safe for me.

There aren't too many places that carry much more than the usual import-made stuff that are only classified as security containers with a thin skin of steel over gyspum or fiber board for the fire-resistance rating. VaultPro is a good compromise with an American made container that has decent security features and well fit doors. Like buying a gun, this is something you actually want to put your hands on and test for yourself. Look for play in the locking mechanisms, door gaps, how the gaskets are cut and fitted, look at the hinges for play or wear, look at accessory features for adding lighting and corrosion control, etc.

Mine did too! I picked it on sale, then they bumped it with a fork lift "sharpie fix" saved me an additional 50.00 Cannon isn't top of the line but when I was shopping for safes I didn't see anything I couldn't get into with a sledge or angle grinder. It will keep my grandchildren from easy access and an honest man honest.
My black mouth curr/plot mix will probably point to the good stuff

I'm interested in this too. I do want an actual safe though not security cabinent. What's the low end for something like this? Only need to store about 4-6 long guns, 2 handguns, maybe a few documents.

Take an hour or so and read this site before shopping for a safe:

An actual safe that passes a RSC Burglary Classification? Probably around $1,500 at the low-end. AMSEC NF-series is probably the lowest end of their products. Give you an idea of the difference in gun cabinets that are of the size you'd need with different protection ratings, an NF5924 ($1,500) weighs about 600 lbs and the BF2 6024 ($4,200) weighs over 1,000 lbs. Both are similar in size with same capacity for firearms, but one carries nearly three times the price and 400 more pounds of steel. AMSEC's smallest safe with the highest burglary protection rating is almost $10,000, weighs 3,400+ lbs., and is not much bigger than the other two listed.

Costs more than a better AMSEC product and Sturdy cops out on the UL RSC rating of their products.

Same here, but I got it at Costco. It keeps my guns locked up away from the little ones. Also, when a package comes with those desiccants, I throw them in there too.
