I have the old school Benjamin (25 years old with a Walmart Tasco). Now I'm on a mission and need to know what new badass pellet gun to get. TIA

dont kill the woodpeckers, which are probably red-bellied sapsuckers.

Gamo. I advise you don't advertise that you are killing woodpeckers though.

Screw that, my homeowners doesn't cover damage from birds. If they quit pecking at my gutters and trim, I'll quit shooting at them.

C'mon man don't shoot woodpeckers. Pecking at your gutters? I've never heard of that, they full of dirt and bugs?

Woodpeckers eat bugs. Bugs kill trees. Shooting these birds are a chicken sh*t thing to do. Get over your self.

why in the world would you kill a woodpecker? I mean of all the things you could kill for nuisance purposes, a woodpecker?

FWIW, my neighbor had a real issue with woodpeckers...

The next time he painted his house, he put hot pepper powder in the paint. Never an issue again.

....birds are typically immune to capsaicin.

Does it just keep bugs away or something?

My problem is carpenter bees!!! It's way high up there, I'd have to get on roof to hang traps. But the woodpeckers show up later to go after the bee larvae, rows of holes lol

They definitely aren't.

There has got to be a way to handle it without shooting them. They have federal protection and people have been locked up for it in California, probably unlikely in Louisiana though.

Nope, arching a BB at 20 yards with a Red Rider. The wisdom of the OB convinced me to let them live but ward them off with gentle BB nudges....

But I did spend an hour I academy looking at pellet rifles. My old school Benjamin is a little punk compared to the pellet rifles these days!!!
