Best looking outboard over the years

I have to say it's hard to beat this Mercury model





there have also been some sharp Evinrude designs over the years .. but their modern look is awful, IMO.

I like the looks of the old stack Mercs.

I'm not a Mercury fan, but the Early Opti-Max cowlings with King Neptune's face on them were pretty cool looking to me.

I like the Evinrude E-Tec cowling with the American flag on it too.

Everybody around these parts liked it. I would come out of stores and restaurants and people would be standing around the boat looking at the motor and asking questions.

It was very quiet, but slow (only a 5 1/2). The old school fuel delivery system using a pressurized metal tank was a pain in the arse.

Always liked the merc stacks. My dad had one on the first boat I remember as a child.
