Best leader knot

What’s y’all’s go-to leader knot? I posted on here a few days ago about my leader knot not holding and thought it might have been the difference in line diameters. I’m using 65 lb braid to a 17 lb fluoro leader. My FG not just will not hold for some reason.
....I also need a knot to go through micro guides

Uni-uni is the way to go if you do not have micro guides. Very easy to tie in a boat and I’ve never had one break on me unless it was my fault. Having said that, The fg is a great knot if you can get it to work. Maybe tie the fg knot when prepping and learn the Uni-uni when in the boat.

Use search feature. Have had two of these threads recently.

I really don’t think you’ll be able to get a 65lbs braid and 17lbs flouro knot of any kind through micro guides.

The diameter of both is almost equal. If the leader isn’t too long then it should be able to fit through micro guides ( at least the ones I’ve used). I generally have 30lb braid - 20-30lb Fluoro. The fluro knot is usually going to be bigger but maybe not so much between 65lb braid and 17lb fluro with a .03 mm diameter difference.

FG knot does better when using heavier leader than mainline (according to salt strong), which may be what's causing your issue.
I've been using the Shin Fukae knot for the last couple months and had no issues. Far easier to tie than the fg, and goes through micro guides with no problem.

I run 50lb braid to 20 lb flourocarbon leader and had the FG fail me a few times I'm assuming because i missed something tying it. I switched to the Albero and haven't beoken one yet. Easy to tie in the boat but may not go through some micro guides.

Slim Beauty, but with micro guides I'm not sure. I have one rod with micro guides and it'll be my last.

FG or double uni

FG is a big pain in the arse to tie when you’re fishing especially if it is a bit sporty and have had it fail before. Double Uni is easy and reliable.

That shin fukea knot seems really simple. How has it been holding up?

Surgeon's knot. It is easy to tie and very reliable.

A lot of the guys I fish with have switched to the Shin Fukae knot.

Holding up fine so far, but when I've been fishing I've mainly been targeting flounder lately so haven't hooked anything big enough to really test it out yet. Buddy that showed me the knot has caught some nice reds using it though.
