Killing time and after reading the thread on CoCo I got to wondering. What is the top duck hunting club/property in the state. And by the top I dont mean the nicest I mean consistently kills and holds the most ducks.

I would assume Little Pecan and Grosse Savanne are up there. I know there is a property in East Carroll on the river that is supposed to be lights out.

I am sure one of you OB ballers has a secret GH reserve.

I know of a place in SWLA which has to be the consistently-best specklebelly property in the state...

Also the LSU lakes seem to be a honey hole

My neighborhood pond.

Stacked with mallards year round. Canadas too.

I'm sure one would disappear if it had some jewelry.

I would think the Coastal Club would have to be in there somewhere.

Edited to change a typo from Cardinal to Coastal whoops

Elton Kennedy's farm broken into Woodsland and Richland Plantations on Highway 15 a little South of Monroe. It's all rice with some scattered cypress brakes. I have no clue how many total pits and blinds are out there but they are leased by some upper echelon North LA individuals and if you add the total kills of every one up for a season I bet year in and year out, that place would probably be the clubhouse leader in the entire state of LA.

They have the place in Monroe but I believe they hunted in Missouri for the opener this year.

I am guessing the NELA area is best to hunt?

I hunted Grosse Savanne before it was GS back in the 80's.
It was fantastic. Always killed tons of green heads and pintails.

After getting skunked in Delacroix I’d say the South American exhibit at the zoo

I submit to you that any lodge, club etc that claims to be THE top, pinnacle, #1, etc, is being at best immodest.

There are scattered blinds throughout the delta and across the southern portion of the state that can be VERY VERY good and VERY VERY consistent, but they can all have bad days.

I've had bad days in Honey Brake, and Oak Grove in Cameron and both of those can be very good and very consistent.

To say that either of those or many others is THE best is like debating favorite ice cream flavors.

Well the entire state has been hit or miss but overall most pits out there produce. Some are better than others for sure, but those are also cost the most. That farm produces because of the sheer volume of flooded rice out there managed exclusively for duck hunting.

In SWLA it is the Lawtons property. Always loaded with big ducks from November thru close. Even this year was no different. Every time it was hunted was lights out limits of green heads, pintatils, canvasbacks, you name it. Winters a lot of ducks and sees little pressure.

I would think SW LA would give NE LA a hard run for that title with Hackberry/Holly Beach/Marsh Club holding it's own with any area NE LA has.

I think NE LA edges it though since we have a greater footprint of duck habitat since we share birds with SE AR.

I'll go with the one that is most expensive per acre to lease in LA.... which is right near white lake...

Colby kills some ducks but it’s hardly the best property in the state.

I’m sure the answer is somewhere in Cameron parish for most total birds. Around here it would probably Elton’s Hwy 15 property or Dave’s Bayou if I had to guess.
