I will damn near have to custom order the F150 for what comes standard on the Titan.

Nissan is going to end production of the Titan trucks next year. I wouldn’t buy one. Resale will shite and if you keep it long term parts will be more expensive and harder to find.

I agree. I wouldn’t knowingly buy a truck that was going out of production.

I’ve had nothing but problems with my 2016 F250. Electrical and mechanical failures have been consistent since I purchased. Less than 90k miles. It ticks me off that I have to replace it.

I dont think it would bother me. Nissan isn't going away, and if you aren't going to trade it in than it's irrelevant.

That is sort of what I am thinking. Also are the moving away from the 5.6 and the 8 speed? It is in their large SUV as well.

The Titians scare me way more than the GM’s. Plus I’m about two years the Titian will be needing a new paint job.

I'm a Ram fan

In the last 25 years I've owned 2 Chevys, both with quality issues, one was really bad. Two Fords, one had burnt valves. On my 7th Ram and they have treated me great. And its just what I like. I buy what I like, not brand loyal.

I drive the 3.0 in a Ram 1500. Fuel mileage is really good, torque not so much. No issues with engine over 60k miles.

I doubt they would re-tool the driveline for a soon to be killed product line.

Gotcha. I've had bad experiences with ram by virtue of a fleet running a buttload of them, which would likely be the case no matter what we ran. The analytics show that it's lowest total cost of ownership out of the HD offerings, so that's what we stick with. The lower sell price offsets the vast majority of out of warranty failures. We drive them to 250-300k miles.

I had a recent F250 that was a heap of shite. Transmission made horrible noises, very squeaky cab mounts, the whole undercarriage was rusty as hell. It was just a piece. Damn shame too, because that was going to be my keep forever truck. Issues aside, the layout/features/etc at the price point were much better than the ram IMO.

Right now, I'm a fan of chevrolets truck. The price point is competitive with others and as far as I know, they have been boringly reliable. The few people I know with new body style diesel GMs have had great service from them. I've gotten to tow ~ 12k lbs with both brand new fords and chevrolet 1 tons and both really yanked it around with authority and handled the tongue weight wonderfully. Both are very noticeably more powerful and well planted than my 4th gen ram. The main noticeable difference is the ride quality when loaded. The coil sprung ram handles max GVWR ok, some porpoising at higher speeds. The Ford and Chevy handle it perfectly.

I haven’t looked at the new GM’s but I never understood the DEF rank placement on the recent 2500/3500’s. It was just asking to get damaged or ripped off.

It's still in the same stupid place I believe. I can't believe they haven't changed that.

Have a 2013 F250 that has 247K on it. Never a single problem with the engine... normal wear and tear.

Don't get me started on all the emissions stuff that I have had a problem with. The engine and transmission have been bullet proof so far. I tow our 21' CC boat a lot. I do some heavier long distance towing 4-8 times a year. Tow a custom 18' dual axle loaded up with UTV, 4 wheeler, coolers and lots of gear into NW Colorado every year elk hunting. High passes and steep roads... engine is fine.

Ford brakes and rotors are undersized and they suck. I'm a believer in the engine and drivetrain.

Not anymore. They're fantastic on the new trucks.

It's still a little noisy due to the cp3 fuel pump, but has far less valvetrain noise than the old one.

Is it just me or does anyone hate the idea of a quiet diesel engine? I love the sound a diesel makes

Just got a 2023 F250 XLT and love it. The 6.7 with 10 speed is averaging 21-22 empty on the interstate. I’m pulling the 5th wheel this weekend and excited to see the MPGs.

I had a 2015 F250 with the 6.7 and 6 speed auto that I traded in and it was great. It only averaged 17-19 MPG empty on the interstate and 10-11 pulling my 5th wheel.

So far the 6.7 has treated me well. I try to keep idling at a minimum and do regular maintenance religiously.

I admittedly usually enjoy my rattely shakey peterbuilt sounding cummins when pulling stuff. I like it alot just driving around.

17 hours in to a 24 hour road trip dragging a trailer through the rocky mountains though, it starts getting hard to sleep in there. The exhaust brake is LOUD when it's working hard. The engine is loud when it's up around 18 pounds of boost. It just gets less cool sounding when you're trying to sleep in the back seat.

Pulling a load with a 2023 F350 is downright boring in a good way. It's stupidly quiet, the exhaust brake is nearly silent but still stops hard. The new ones don't even shake when you start them or shut them down. It's amazing.
