both the lead line and terminal line both attach to the top of the cork
i can see that being somewhat helpful on a light bite. it may make the top tip-around. live cocahoe on that may be a big mess

Got a reel wou one of those buttons on it that you push. That's what I rock and I am more accurate that a tournament pro with a bait caster

I know how you feel. I have tried several bait casters over the years and didn't get the hang of it until I bought a pflueger Criterion. Now I can use it with a little confidence.
That said, I own 14 different spinning reels, from Mitchels and Shakesperes to Shimano and Okuma. Some of these reels are 15-20 yrs old. I can pick anyone of them up and cast more accurately and backlash free than the pflueger. I'm talking about no problems in a whole day of fishing. I screwup the bait caster several times in a morning.
I WILL master it though.

I struggle with throwing the bait cast over the shoulder, kind of. I can throw it from the side, and even sometimes over the shoulder straight back to straight forward. Any tips for how to do that? Most of the time if I try I bird nest or I just throw it straight into the water 5 feet in front of me. I'm talking about the cast when the fisherman grabs it with both hands, slings it back then just slings it forward. Looks hard as frick.
ETA: Like meauxjeaux said, it limits my casting ability when I'm in close proximity to someone on the boat.

like others have said, tighten the brakes and practice in the backyard.
To fix a bird's nest, press down on the spool w/ your thumb w/ alot of pressure and reel a few cranks, then pull some line out. repeat process until the nest is clear.
also, for saltwater fishing, I rarely use a baitcaster w/ a cork, especially on a windy day. It can be done, but more likely to backlash.

Can't tell if sarcasm, but Curados are my all-time favorite reel. Now you have to spend the extra $50 to get the Chronarch to get the same thing. When I heard they were discontinuing the old models I went out and bought three. I've thrown a Calais and I still like my Curados better.

I can turn mine all the way off and cast really far. I don't because it does end up in some bad issues into the wind, but it's good to have that skill if you need it.

You still need practice. You cast like I shoot a pistol

When my dad taught me he tied a bell sinker to the line, tightened brakes, and put a 5 gallon bucket in the yard. Told me to throw until I could consistently put the sinker in bucket.

Spellchecker screwed that whole post up.
Just saying if someone likes the spinning reel stick with it especially if you can't or don't have the time or patience to throw a baitcaster.

You're right ... just not worth it. Just throw it my way and I'll take care of it for you.
