Ally herbicide. It will only kill bahia. We used it on a pasture and it worked wonders.

EDIT: Sorry, just saw Nodust beat me to it. He's spot on. Shyt works.

I couldn't remember how it was spelled. E or no E.

Can it be sprayed on centipede or st aug. I only used it for bahia in Bermuda grass

Not sure. We had a hay pasture OF bahia that we wanted to get it out of. You're also correct about it making good hay. Will grow on a hungry hill that no other grass will.

Kinda tough on cows' teeth though, seriously. Only if grazing, not as a hay.

I think it's "Ally" but not positive. Could be "Allie" for all I remember.

Nodust, I did a search and found this:

quote:

Works great on centipede and St. Augustine. The high rate is 1/2 oz. per acre. Do not exceed that on centipede or you will be buying some sod. St. Augustine is more tolerant of it than centipede. Hope this helps.

Also that it's now called Cimmeron. I did not know that and I have no idea about what the guy posted in about it in St Aug in the link I'm giving. Don't want to put out bad info so anyone reading this please do so with caution as I have no knowledge whether it's true or not.

Trade names change so much it's hard to keep up. But Ally will kill the crap out of Bahia. It's not cheap from what I remember. But I was spraying a golf course so everything was triple the price for the same chemical in an ag label.

Don't know about the ally that was mentioned...wished I'd known about that sooner... But the only mediocre success I've had was using round up concentrate full strength on a cotton glove and grab the stalk from the base and slide your hand up the stalk...I don't have much of it and that's the method I've used to get rid of most of it...

My dad uses a product called Clean Pasture that works really well on Bahaha grass. It's kind of expensive, but it works.

Move. I did.

Now I can see a few stalks about five lots away from my current house. I think I have about three years before I have to move again.

My yard is appx 1 acre but it is also in the pastures that surround me. I'm positive that even if I get rid of it in my yard it will be back eventually. I bushhog the pastures and I'm not concerned with their apperance as much as I am around my house

along those lines, how about goose grass? The only way I know to kill it is with round up.
