Yeah... Except I never made a comparison. I simply said I rank them in that order (of things I like to drink). Sorry I didn't specify but like JAB said, that's F&D board shite.
It doesnt matter that much to me. Just pointing out that you compared a Tennessee whiskey to 3 Kentucky bourbons

All Tennessee Whiskey is Straight Bourbon and can be legally called and marketed as Bourbon. Jack and Dickel brands can also market themselves as Tennessee Whiskey, but the only difference is a state line and a minor difference in the filtering process. They choose to market themselves with the Tennesse Whiskey nomenclature, but it is Bourbon.
Saying don't call JD bourbon is like sayin don't call my Silverado a truck.

Although the product generally meets the regulatory criteria for classification as a straight bourbon, the company disavows this classification and markets it simply as Tennessee whiskey rather than as Tennessee bourbon.[4][5]

legally it is, but neither do I. The Lincoln county process completely changes the liquor.

I agree with some of that; that filtering process removes some of the flavor and a lot of the sweetness. I can drink most other bourbons neat or on rocks. Jack only goes well with sweet mixers like coke or in an Old Fashioned. But it's still a type of bourbon, damn it!
To the OP; it's a damn shame Maker's is changing the formula just because popularity is causing supply issues. I wish they would have just increased the price to balance supply and demand and maintained product quality.

I enjoy gentleman jack and single barrel on the rocks. Not old no 7 though.

Due to the price point of similar alcohols, MM might have determined that raising the price kills demand.
Perhaps, but so can changing your formula. Think, New Coke.
