ATF wait times

A friend of mine is about to start the process of purchasing a suppressor and starting a new AR build. Do any of y'all have an idea of how long the wait times are for a suppressor and a stamped lower at the moment? Or do you have a link that gives accurate data?

I've been telling my trust clients to expect 5-6 months. It was around 4, but we've seen a lot of panic buying with 41P, and now we'll see even more with Orlando.

I filed for my suppressor on January 5th and got the stamp back Tuesday. so a little over 5 months on the suppressors. It appears the SBRs are around 4 months.
Here is a link that is pretty accurate on the wait times.

Yeah I figured there would be a surge with 41P about to go through and it would add some time. Thanks for quick response

The most recent stamp came in 5/19 and the forms were sent in the first week of December. So about five and half months. I have another one out that seems to be moving a lot faster.

mine was submitted 12/29 and approved 6/8

41P/41F is a collection of new regulations affecting NFA Trust settlors/trustees. Basically, starting July 13, there will be two major changes for trust applicants. They'll have to submit a photo, fingerprint, and a new form (5320.23) for each "responsible person" in the trust. These are Trustees and Settlors.
The second major change involves a notification requirement to the CLEO of your parish. As it reads now, all this requires is a forwarding of the Form 4/Form 1, + the 5320.23 forms for each responsible person, to the sheriff or DA of your parish.
eta: It's really not as big of a deal as some are making it out to be (at least as it reads now). A trust is still the best way to go about purchasing and owning Class III items.

OP, the tracking websites can be a good indicator if you remember that it only tracks one examiner. Some are faster than others, it really depends on who you get. So, just because someone got a stamp back after 5 months on one of these tracking websites doesn't mean it's not totally possible that yours could take 6 months. You could be unlucky and draw an examiner that is really slow. Just remember NFA is a waiting game and requires patience. Also, remember the dealer you get it from doesn't know anything about when it is coming back approved until it shows up. The ATF doesn't give any details to any party involved about "how much longer it's going to be". So, save the weekly phone calls at the 4 month point. The dealer is as anxious to get it out of his inventory as you are to put it on your gun.

Finding them in stock isn't that huge of a problem. Give me a couple of days. The only problem is finding it below $700 for the Obsidian.

Obsidian is preferred I just can't find it anywhere.
Would be legit. I was expecting to spend $850

NFAtracker.com tracks user-submitted info on submission dates, form types, and approval dates...you can add the name of the examiner(s) but that's irrelevant to to the data being tracked. you can sort by examiner but it tracks all forms submitted not just those by an specific examiner at ATF

Right, my point seeing that NFAtracker says a guy got an approval after 5 months just means one examiner of many approved a form at 5 months. Another examiner could be at 5.25 months, another at 5.5 months, etc. etc.
ETA: if your examiner is listed on there with approvals it is extremely relevant info to tracking your form because you can get a better feel of where that specific person is.

Form 3 then Form 4. Thats no fun.
I am waiting until Silencer Shop gets their shite together for this 41F. Electronic fingerprints and phone app for photos. Do this once and make a purchase once every 2 years and you're good. Even a series of Forms 1s extends it another 2 years.

They axed this, allegedly. Be prepared to have to do the process every time. I'm taking everyone off my trust

I don't think it can be modified once its been added to the Register. Not without going through the same process all over again.
I thought about stripping mine down, but wife needs to be on it and so does a Guarantor trustee. I guess 3 is better than what it was, but 1 sounds a lot better.
