This may be what he was referring to:

quote:

According to 18 U.S.C. § 923(g)(3) and 27 CFR § 478.126a, FFLs must:

Complete ATF Form 3310.4 when an individual purchases or acquires two or more handguns within five consecutive business days.

Submit the form to the ATF and the chief local law enforcement officer (e.g., the parish sheriff) within the same day the second handgun is sold or transferred.

Someone else more familiar with this, feel free to correct me.

Would be interesting to notify NRA-ILA

Like they’re going to do anything.

i'm pretty sure those groups are already well aware of this law since 1968.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Form_3310.4

quote:

Report of Multiple Sale or Other Disposition of Pistols and Revolvers, or ATF Form 3310.4, is a form prescribed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) for use by firearm dealers holding a Federal Firearms License (FFL) to report when an unlicensed person purchases or acquires two or more handguns at one time or during five consecutive business days.[1]

The form must be completed in triplicate (3 copies): the original is sent to ATF's National Tracing Center by fax or mail; a copy is sent to the designated State police or the local law enforcement agency in the jurisdiction where the sale took place; and the third copy is retained in the records of the dealer and held for not less than 5 years.[2][3]

The requirement to report multiple sales or other dispositions of pistols or revolvers has been in place since the Gun Control Act of 1968.[4] ATF has stated that these reports of multiple sales are a valuable tool when investigating gun trafficking.[5]

a local LGS i frequent once told me a guy had 10 Glocks listed on one 4473 form.

- **Context of the Incident:** The confrontation arose when Burk, on assignment to retrieve an illegally-owned shotgun, was not wearing any identifying uniform or badge and failed to follow officers' orders, leading to the escalation. The ATF attempted to fire Burk following this incident, but he was allowed to take disability retirement instead.

Hmmmm...No uniform or badge? Almost sounds like he was going to rip him off. Of course now we have to pay him disability for the rest of his life.
POS grifter.

This happend to me about 20 years ago. ATF showed up at my house in the middle of the day asking for proof of a couple of handguns I purchased on one transaction.

The NICS background check does not ask how many pistols you're purchasing. You only need to be approved to purchase pistols.

it's U.S. law according the GCA of '68.

Strange. I worked at a gun store about 15 years ago and don't remember ever doing that with multiple sales.

They must've done that report in the office after the sale.

So, you can avoid that by buying from different dealers?

This is is the form they send if a multi handgun purchase in one day or multi in a 5/day span. It’s not an Ascension Parish law. I’ve never heard of any local law enforcement do a follow up on a 3310.4 its always ATF.

In theory yes. The dealer files the form. I wouldn’t be shocked if the NICS was able to track it and red flag it.

Meh, I had an incident at the gun store in slidell with a little shite bird kid who kept pushing the issue trying to get me to say it was a straw purchase.

We finally got to the point where I told the old man who was working if he didn't just fill out the form and change his attitude I was buying the entire stock of Sar9s just so he had to do the paperwork and cry himself to sleep.

I have actually called the ATF on a Sherriff when a local Sherriff was breaking the law. The elected guy... who ran as a conservative and pro gun but confiscated this poor woman's dead husbands legal collection.
