Anyone who planted early seen any army worms?

No evidence yet on our early plots in SW Miss, but with these temps combined with dry weather it's just a matter of time...

Passed a guy Sunday morning in Walmart wearing lacrosse boots and camo who was on the phone hollering at someone about GD worms in the plots and the rain weren’t enough to piss on.

Consider that confirmation for the hills zone.

Area 4 planted sept 28 before the 4in of rain we were supposed to get.
Didn’t get the rain we were supposed to get but neighbor passed through today and said our plots were 3-4in high.
I’m assuming AW didn’t get them and I stressed more than I should have planting some weed seeds for some deer that won’t show during daylight…

Planted weekend before last. Got lucky with a little rain and all came up. No worms, but no rain for the next 2 weeks. Tried to drive T-posts in one plot and couldn’t even get the spade in. It’s gonna be a different season south of Natchez

Acorns are falling in 90+ temps. Guessing they will spoil faster.

None on Greensburg, LA oil seed radish plots as of this past Sunday. The plot was planted mid September. Not sure if army worms even bother brassicas?

Planted 9/12 in Southern Marion County MS, didn’t rain until 9/21. Rye/raddish/turnips have come up great. No army worms. Plenty of crab grass, and other weeds though. Hoping cooler weather knocks those down.

Central LA, they ran through our pastures heavy 2-3 weeks back. But the jokes on them bastards as we are in such a drought. I think it says d2 but I’d say our spot is d4. There wasn’t much for them to eat.

Feeding hay in October is nuts. Hopefully we have enough hay to last this winter.
