You talking about SW from Bogalusa? If so, he does a hell of a job repainting them.

90% of the time for "walking" I'm throwing black. When they're chasing a lot of shad I'll tie on a white frog sometimes, but I'm usually using other baits during that time. For ribbits I like to throw black or green (depending on water clarity and weather).

But yeah, for the most part white and black are all you need. And I'm still trying to perfect walking them myself.

KVD was throwing those $10 crank baits in 20 ft of water at Toledo Bend, he said he lost 6-10 of them a day.

That's some high dollar fishing

Took my daughter fishing last year... Noticed this Yak fisherman hammering one spot over and over. After about an hour, I finally trolled close enough to him and asked if the fish are usually stacked up there because he sure seems to like that spot.

Short pause before he replies "no, I lost a bait and I'm trying to snag it."

Me: "damn, that must be a hell of a fish catcher."

A bit longer pause: "I wouldn't know, this was my first time to use it. It's a such-n-such and I paid $140 for it."

Now I pause... Just trying to figure out how not to laugh... Not at his misery, but just the thought of throwing away a $140 bait. Finally I ask, "sounds like you need a beer." I gave him the only two I had with me, figured he needed them more than me.

I wish! Not in media or industry or anything so until they open it to the public I won't be able to attend.

He's not paying for them and $250-$400 probably isn't a big deal to someone who won $100k. I'm fairly sure he changes out the hooks for larger Mustad hooks though so it's probably closer to $15-20 a bait

There was a time back in the 90s when I had a rattle trap pattern on the Red. We were losing too many fish on the stock hooks. Those odd shaped deals would have one in the mouth and often the other attached to the body. I am a believer.

Tried and tested on the waters of Lake Biwa, its a true big fish bait designed for catching bass 30-inches and bigger. As proof, world record holder Manabu Kurita hooked into a bass he estimated to be 28-pounds on a version of the Mother swimbait, but lost her during the fight

On average I probably spend about 25 dollars per lure.

A little cheap but it's about the fisherman and not the equipment.
