But you can see crossbow sights?

I can see cross hairs in a scope. When I shoot a bow with pins I can either see the deer clearly or the pins clearly. It isn't a very accurate way to shoot. I bow hunted for years before my eyes went south btw.

10-4. I fully approve of your crossbow usage.

Absolutely. This is what it was originally intended for. My father broke both arms pretty bad back in 1977. He had to get a permit from the state to use a crossbow. Took him a few years to get back enough strength to go back to a compound. He went back to a crossbow last year. Arthritis will no longer allow him to shoot a compound. This is why I am so adamant about able bodied people not crossbow hunting.

If my shoulders get any worse, I'm going to be tempted. Feels like I'm getting stabbed in the shoulders with an ice pick when I draw. Frustrating, because that only happens on certain movements. (Military presses in the gym are fine. Drawing a bow is bad. WTF?) Getting old...

Don't mess up your shoulder man. I had a surgery scare a couple of years ago. I missed one full bow season, and had to go through painful PT. I am good now, but there are so many iffy to bad results from those surgeries.

I'm definitely thinking about incurring the wrath of the OB and getting a crossbow. After 50, the warranty on all my parts are expired.

I had pain in both shoulders, told the doctor they would be fixed in time for bow season if it required surgery. Some shots and some meds and now they just fine and off the meds. knock on wood.

ETA: but dropping back to 60 lbs on draw weight also helped

When hunter's fight

Excellent article from Steve Rinella about a similar issue that everyone who posted in this topic should take the time to read. Might open some dialog between hunters who choose to disagree over trivial things.

Yeah, I don't agree with that at all.
