We have flooded rice in Evangeline parish and a natural pond about 10 min. west of Opelousas. Had a few teal near OP earlier and opening morning in EP we shot a few big ducks. Been to both since and I'm not even seeing them fly! Are they not down? Far south? North?

Killed the shite out of 'em this weekend in Lake Village AR. Not a lot of mallards though. Mostly gadwall, pintail, teal and shovelers. They were getting scarce by the last day of the split.

Fingers crossed! I've been missing some time in a tree to shot them but it's not going over well. Hopefully it'll push them down.

Have 1 blind south of hwy 15 that's limited every day this season. My blinds north of Mer Rouge slowed way down last 2 days

Two weeks straight of double limits of Kentuckies, but not been back since duck season opened. Dudes were building a blind on my spot, and I don't ever want to mess with anyone's duck hunt.

This "winter storm" that's hitting the north should push the ducks down here. Things should pick up for the weekend, I would think/hope.

We've limited every hunt in the marshes near Chauvin, 95% gray ducks though, so not much of an indicator of what you would probably see over there.

I find that hard to believe, but good for you if it's true. I've made about 7 hunts that way an averaged about a bird per hunt. Don't think I'm headed back that way anytime soon. Either you have a great spot or I'm Doig something wrong.
