family politics pretty common up there

Its a little ways NW of ville Platte.

The only reason I haven't hunted it yet is because I know how big of a pain in the arse it will be.

If the ducks are up there may be worth it though.

Southeast Texas marshes have been holding a bunch of ducks. The NWR's and the WMA's are having some pretty solid hunts, if you know where to go. I am hearing great things out of some spots around Johnson's Bayou and Sabine as well. Tons of grays and teal but seeing more and more pintails. Oh, and are LOADED with stupid redheads.

Always shite tons on the Rock. Never leave the freshwater impoundement cause theirs no hunting allowed. That huge population saves PI and GC cause the birds want to leave the refuge at some point. if you are in the flyways with a bunch of decoys you can do well. Thats if you can get a lease from VERM CORP

Ours is off WPA as well. Spoonie city is the truth. Hit or miss and gets thrown off easy with fog or weather.

Big deer in Whiteville as well.

No for real you can kill birds of the WPA when its right. Always did well couple days after a cold front cam through and wind came back out the south. The specks can be stupid if you hunt late to

and 100 or more years ago... canada geese were marsh birds.... how many go to marshes now?

Its funny you mention this...I was just reading a book this week about the Battle of New Orleans and they were talking about when the British were sneaking through the marshes around Lake Borgne, that they were full of ducks and Canada geese. I called BS. Maybe I was wrong!

You are wrong no doubt they used too not even shoot specks back in he day. The goose that the original gueydan hunters killed was teh canada. Only after the canadas' no longer came south they started modifying olt predator calls to kill what was left, the specklebelly
