I find that hard to believe, but good for you if it's true. I've made about 7 hunts that way an averaged about a bird per hunt. Don't think I'm headed back that way anytime soon. Either you have a great spot or I'm Doig something wrong.

Where y'all at? We are not too far north of lake Boudreaux

Seeing plenty of wood ducks in East Zone, south. Not much else at all. Flocks of big ducks few & far between.

How do you normally do in evangeline parish? we have about a 200 acre flooded cypress piece of property up there but some family politics goes in to getting out there.

Started off extremely strong, then went to shite in a matter of a week. There's a few spots that are holding a bunch of birds around us, but they just get up and go right back down. Not sure what them boys got growing in them ponds, but they can't seem to shoot them off of them.

Seeing and killing in TX. Saw a lot in NE LA over Turkey week but the only day I hunted the birds got all fricked up without any wind and didn't play nice. My buddies pit on 15 has been sucking arse as well.

one of the single best places I am aware of / have been too is in evangeline parish it is about 600 acres rice and has a cypress brake bordering one side.

even in the lean years/times this family hammers choice ducks....

the family is not from evangeline parish - but lives in a neighboring parish.

Well when you got close to a million mallards sitting in SD dining on ample waste grain in early Dec, it's a clear indicator the birds haven't flown south. Need snow up north, and a lot o it.

Is this 2003? Been a decade of sporadic hunting. Praying the next front pushes them all down.

Seems to be the same, teal and a mixed bag easy to come by early first split. Dead at end. Second split opens to a mixed bag with a few mallards.......dries up.....then it happens, the last week of season DU releases the mallards from the big pens and turns off the heaters and we kill mallards the last weekend. shite is rigged.
