Don't the new Titans/XDs have a 9 speed now? Any word on the reliability of those?

From what I understand, you can disable the AFM but…

To truly "delete" AFM, you have to replace the cam, lifters, VLOM, etc., and do a tune to remove AFM from the ECM.

How are the Allison 10spd and the 10spd in the Ford Super Duty’s?

I planned on getting a 3/4 ton truck after the new year but would prefer not to get a POS.

Both excellent. The dodge 68rfe is the worst HD truck trans on the market right now, and it's not that bad. The aisin is probably the best in terms of durability, but it's a clunky bitch.

I wish somebody would offer a full sized truck with a manual transmission.

Company has over 30 of the base model 4 door 24's with the 5.3's. Our shop has had over 10 with trans issues. Supposedly it's the valve body and they are 6-8 weeks out.

About 20K miles towing around 10-11K on a Ford 10 speed, flawless so far. Mostly towing from East Texas to the West, so not all flat ground.

My brother had a 2020 Silverado, transmission(10 speed) went out at 75,000 miles. At 125,000 miles started acting up again. Traded it in for a Ford 150. I have a 2018 Sierra and the transmission(6 speed) started acting up at about 100,000 miles, dealer said it normally shifts like that. 160,000 miles went out, now at 200,000 miles, it doing the same thing the other transmission did. May trade it in too.
I was told that the Ford and Chevy both uses the same 10 speed transmission(don't know who makes it for them) and my friend 10 speed 2021 F150 been thru 3 transmission before 150,000 miles.

Oh I do know the topic child. I remember very well when the Titan first came on the market and the transmission and rear axle problems they were having, even at stock power levels, and (contrary to what you imagine) Nissan was very slow to fix anything with them and in fact it was so bad that people were posting dealership dumpsters stuffed full of new real axle assemblies because Nissan was still shipping defective parts. The 5-speed Jatco had a long history of problems and suffered from just about every kind of failure an electronically controlled automatic can have, it got so bad that transmission shops wouldn't service them because there was no way they could guarantee the work. The Titan suffered the same issue pretty much all Nissan products have: a great engine wrapped in crap. They never reached target sales figures with the Titan, they should have shite-canned them years ago.

I had a ‘16 Sierra tran fail at about 90k miles and I had it replaced. Replacement worked fine all the way through trading it in @ 130k. There is a class action lawsuit against GM for the transmissions on the ‘15-‘19 Sierras plus several other GM models. Class was certified in ‘23 and then upheld on appeal a couple months ago. Hopefully some relief coming.

Yes. I have a 24 6.2 Silverado 4x4 with the 10 speed. At around 20K miles (I'm at ~26K now), I noticed a vibration at certain speeds that disappear if I accelerate. But if I hold that same speed, the vibration is there. It's still under warranty and I don't have the time right now mess with it or to be driving a loaner especially during the holidays and hunting season.
I'm fortunate to be provided a brand new truck every 3 years from work. I haven't had a flawless Ford or GM in the last 15 years and I trade them in after only 3 years! Thinking really hard about trying a Dodge next.

I haven't had one. But, I will say it's the mercedes transmission licensed and then manufactured by jatco.

The onky complaint I've seen is oem fluid price. Over 50 a quart from nissan. Mercedes dealer sells the whole servuce kit for 175.

My 2003 Cummins with manual 6speed is still going strong around 290k so far hoping for another 500k before I start looking at a new 5.9. I don’t have to deal with any emission bs it is time to start replacing a lot of the interior though, it’s time for 2nd set of leather seats and time to replace the blower doors and put a new dash on it.

I think ima do it all at once. Replace all carpet with rubber, replace the dash and all blower doors and probably look at swapping out to some new and fancier seats in the 09 models if I can make em fit.

I just bought new tires, albeit cheap tires, to limp my truck to next fall. Picked them up Wed. Driving last night and start hearing something when coming to a stop or idling. Sounds like a bearing chirp or belt. Hopefully just a belt. FML

Surely there is enough demand for at least 1 manufacturer(toyota) to offer it

I had just put new ridge grapplers on mine when the transmission started to go. Bought a set of used tires for $80 on Facebook marketplace and swapped it out when i sold it
