How do you like it? Does it feel cheap? What bullet shoots the best out of it? Thinking of buying one for my godchild in 7mm-08. TIA

People say they are great guns.

7-08 is a great caliber for anyone not just youth.

I have the 7mm-08 lite. I love it my son 11 and daughter 7 shoot it. I shoot harnady gmx currently but also used federal premium 139 gr and both were accurate.

I don’t have the lite but just the T3x in 308. I have shot cor lokts and hornady whitetail and hornady super performance all 150s and they all have shot less than a inch. I don’t know of any of firsthand prolly 10-15 different podnuhs that have ever said they have one that won’t shoot.
As for feeling cheap, they have a plastic mag and it had a cheap feel and the stock is not a high end like a McMillan but fit and finish and action is smooth.
As for the 7mm08 it’s a great kids round and heck of an adult round as well.
Buy with confidence.

I have the t3x superlite in 7mm rem mag. I like it and it shoots great. Although, I would prefer a more rigid stock and less plastic on the action...

I think the only difference in the superlite and lite is the superlite has a fluted barrel.

I have the T3 Lite, not the x. The action feels like pure $$$, as does the trigger. The stock is fine but it’s not going to impress anyone like the action does. Mine likes Federal Fusion.

Own it in 308, fantastic rifle

It’s lightweight so kicks like a mule, not something you want to use all day at the range but perfect for hunting

I bought one based on reviews in 30-06 to have a low-cost synthetic stocked deer/hog bolt action so that I wouldn't worry about the gun and stock getting messed up due to rough or careless handling. It gets a fair amount of use at our place.

Foremost, it's a shooter. The Tikka reputation is well deserved IMO. The trigger is crisp, action is smooth and groups all the bullet weights I tried very well. But I understand your question about it feeling cheap. I had misgivings initially about the plastic magazine but it's stout so don't feel you need to be concerned about that. I did end up filling the buttstock with some spun fiberglass material as I didn't care for the hollow feel. I really packed it in there so it feels much more solid but didn't add much weight and I can still remove it if for any reason I need to separate the action from the stock.

If I was in the market today, I'd search for something with a 3-position safety purely based on personal preference but only if I was confident that there would be no sacrifice in performance.

I hate the plastic bottom metal and magazine, but I’d rate the fit and finish very high. Safety feel is really sharp and positive. Bolt is glass smooth. Their accuracy reputation is fantastic. Back when they were sub $500, they were a smoking deal. Among gunsmiths, they’re know to have uncommonly straight barrels.

With the “budget rifles” out today, I worry about parts down the road. A rifle should last a lifetime, IMO, and I don’t get the sense that’s the intent for many on the market today. The Tikka is built to last, and it’s likely the most popular centerfire rifle model right now. Globally, they’re very common. As such, I expect parts to be available forever.

No, it’s the one with a plastic stock, as opposed to the T3 Hunter with walnut. Most people have the Lite, they just don’t know it.

I think that’s the T3x Lite compact. The full size T3x Lite only comes in “one size.”

I hate this part also but they are both very well done. They fit tight and nothing rattles.

Nothing about a tikka feels "cheap" IMO, and they are not cheap rifles anymore. I've shot a whole bunch of them and they have all been great shooters.

Have the T3x lite in 7mag and T3x superlite in 6.5. Both are shooters. Would highly recommend.

Question while this is rifle thread

I have leupold vxii scope. The power magnification ring is very hard to turn. There’s an Allen screw on the ring that when loosened doesn’t seem to help. Am I able to drop a lubricant drop in there?

Nvm, the Allen screw out I was able to move the whole ring and it kind of fixed itself

I have the regular T3 in .270. I do not take care of it and it still works. I've probably had it 6 years or so. They are known for their actions and barrels. The trigger is great.

It is the best value in that price range. I just wish they made one in a grendel.

I have the t3 lite in left hand 7mm rem mag. Just ditched the hollow synthetic stock for a Boyd’s spike camp. Huge difference now. Damn thing used to kick so hard. The thumb hole stock is awesome on these things.
