Fished Hwy 51 and had 13 keepers me and a buddy. Tried for trout in Dulac Sunday and only managed 5 keepers. Water was a little staind but fishable. Looking like next weekend should be the same. I am looking to go for some trout any suggestions. Not specific spots...TIA

Fished Okhissa Lake for the first time Saturday. Looks like a nice place, just wish I'd caught a fish. Several folks I spoke with had pictures of nice fish they'd caught there but I didn't see many fish caught Saturday. Probably should've been there yesterday, my life story.

We picked up 24 between two of us Saturday while being eaten alive by gnats north of Cocodrie. Sunday the wind picked up and cut that in half. Didn't miss the cold at all.

I guess we caught about 50 or so sacauperch. Moving water, blue and white about 2.5 to 3 feet, late afternoon.

No cabins at lake yet. Some small cabins in Bude. BOONDOCKS is the name if you're searching for phone number.

caught 5 keepers and a couple unders at Toledo

probably should have stayed longer, but I brought a buddy that has never really fished, much less from a kayak, and he was really struggling once the wind picked up.

Brought a bunch of pen raised quail down to the ranch for a quail shoot. At first we tried to do the whole put them in the brush and flush them but they would just run on the ground forever. So we turned it into a skeet shooting type hunt

We also did a number on the pigs/javalinas. Texans TE/FB James Casey came down too. First time he had ever been hunting and loved it.

Fished around Dularge on Sunday and the water was a bit muddy and the wind was blowing more than I expected. Shouldn't have been a bad day but it was very slow. A couple of catches but no keepers.

Fished Dularge Saturday, caught a mess of sheep head and one keeper red. Gnats almost ended the trip early, but ended up getting a little wind and they settled down.

gonna give it a couple weeks before heading out again. talking with some people on the water and at the landing no one's been doing good lately.

Shot a doe this weekend on top of the 8 point I got about a month ago. Got enough venison to last until next season. Almost time for frogs.
