I know a guy selling filets for $3/lb. Is that pretty standard?

Good price. I pay 3.50 from an old dude but they are very clean, white small filets.

I’ve always wondered who actually goes to the store and buys catfish but I guess that’s bc my freezer is always full of them ??

Guy I work with sells them for 3.50-4.00 a lb but cleans the shite out of them. I'd pay 3.00 if I didn't have any in the freezer and day.

yes, that is a good and very fair "direct source" price for them, stores charge an average of $5-$6 lbs

I buy mine from a fella in Gheens who sells wild caught Lake Des Allemands Catfish Filets for $4 a pound. I'd say $3 is a great price

Depends where he's catching...out of Des Allemands or the Amite fetches $3.00-$3.50 per pound easily. For some reason Pond fish are higher. Rather mine from the wild. Just saying...

Closer to 12 I believe but it’s been awhile. He don’t guarantee it’s all snapper though.

There is a menonite catfish pond north of Lake Charles that you can catch the fish and they skin, clean, and bag them for you for $2.95/lb.

Pretty fun place for a family to enjoy a day of fishing... you will catch fish for sure.

Sunrise Catfish Pond is the name of it and it is just south of DeRidder.
