When you say "shave" please tell me you are referring to when they thin and trim their hair, not actually shave it all off!

Spend the money on a good dog brush. I can take my lab outside and brush her, and it looks like you could stuff a pillow with all the hair that comes out.

We would do this to our Dalmatian, get him a crew cut. First time he was ashamed and slept in the other room after that he loved it. Had way more spots than we could imagine.

Sometimes shaving a dogs coat ends up being really bad for the double coated breeds.

Brushing is great as others have mentioned...and bathing them regularly helps enormously to shed them

I got one of these. It is unbelievable how much hair comes off of our dogs.

NEWSFLASH - Labs shed every year at this time of the year, as in sheds a lot more than normal. Do not shave him, his coat keeps him cool.

Give it time. He’s blowing his coat.

Buy a Furminator. They are worth the money and very effective for your situation.

While you are getting the brush, order a Dremel nail grinder.

This is true, ruined my Chow mix’s coat, only took two shavings to destroy the top coat.

Never heard it called a “lab” but my wife uses wax. It’s a lot smoother.

Shaving is on the level physical abuse. Do you want other problems? Weekly brushing and a little house cleaning are the responsible way to go.
