Anybody having issues renewing Louisiana fishing license?

This state/WL&F has outdone itself on stupid. Cannot renew a fishing license until it expires!! Renewed last year on July 1. Went to Walmart last nite and Academy today to renew and both places are telling me the system will not let them issue a new license until after midnight tonight. Anybody else run into this situation? For the record, my son tried to renew his and he is getting denied also because his current license expires at midnight tonight also.

This is the info online at WL&F--"Annual recreational fishing licenses are valid from the date of purchase and one year (365 days) from the date of purchase. If you purchase your license online, you can select an option to have your license renewed automatically every year". When I try to select the license, it says I already own this license. Now, basically, it expires 1 year from when you purchase it, no more 07/01 thru 06/30. Going forward, will purchase online and select the renew feature. I can't do anything online until tomorrow because it will not let me.

You can’t do it online either until it expires. There should be a window of maybe 3 days to renew before the old one expires.

My license expires on 7/8 and I got the same message.
LA wallet also says my hunter Ed is invalid even though I completed the online and field course in 2018.

Thought mine expired 6/13. Went to Walmarks and asked if I needed duplicate for 2.00. I said no I want to renew. He said they couldn't until my other one expired which was 7/13.

I don’t understand the problem. I buy online and it’s on la wallet. When it expires, I buy again.

The problem is mine expires Monday so if I want to get up early Tuesday morning and go fishing I don’t want to have to waste my early fishing time by renewing before I go fishing Tuesday morning. That’s why I say they should let you renew a day or two before the expiration date to take effect after expiration.

Got the renewal notice a couple days ago and it wouldn't let me renew until today.
When I went to checkout is showed $5 for the Senior's License and a $5 convenience fee for doing it on-line which is an increase from previous years when they charged $3.

Just went through the renewal problem with the current license still in force. Set it upon autopay and from now on renewal is automatic. Problem

How old are you? There’s no need to go to academy to renew any more

Mine expires at midnight tonight. It let me renew today online.
