I have seen and killed quite a few in a very light rain. Don’t like to hunt if I am going to get soaked

Plenty, usually good movement in shitty weather leading up to a cold front.

I’ve always enjoyed hunting in the rain. There’s something very relaxing about sitting in a box stand with rain on the roof.

Light or intermittent rain you will see deer moving. However I have never seen deer moving during a heavy rain despite trying many times. But as soon as the heavy rain stops they will be up and moving

As long as there’s no lightning involved. I sat in a pretty bad thunderstorm once. It was top two scariest moments of my life with lightning hitting way too close. And I actually did see a deer moving in the middle of all that shite.

Not in the rain. But as soon as it stops raining.

If you wait to go to the stand until after it stops, you’re too late

Rain is a great time to still hunt for deer. The leaves are soft so it’s easy to sneak through the woods. They’ll often bed under evergreen trees during rain, so find a spot with lots of those and go sneaking through there really slow.

Some. I like sitting through a wave to be there for them to move after. Sometimes you just get wet.

Mid 1980’s SW Miss. Uncle was new to deer hunting. Seasoned guys at camp saying pointless to hunt in a pouring rain. Uncle says “well cant kill them sitting here”. Hops on Honda 110 3wheeler in a gully washer. Sits in stand getting soaked with .30-06 742 jam master. In 15 mins shoots a 10 pt he mounted. Prob 135” deer. Goes back to camp and asks “whats all this talk about how hard deer hunting is?!” Then proceeds to say he never saw another deer like it in the woods

47 yr old been hunting since I was 7 or 8 never have I ever killed or seen deer in hard rain.
I have seen or killed in slight drizzle, before or after hard rain but not during a true rain. Some of my best hunts have been in tbe breaks or right after a long rain.

Slippin when the woods are wet or in a light rain is a great way to hunt.
I had given that up one morning because it had started lightning. A good 8 stood up downwind of me and I dropped him.
You’ll get wet with the best rain gear in the world if it rains long enough. Light rain is for slippin and heavier is for a shoot house or a card game back at camp. All good.

Light rain is probably the best time to hunt deer, period. Basically, deer start their night time pattern, during the day, so you have a chance at those deer that are routinely nocturnal during shooting light…Hard rain, and they just mostly bed down. Also, during a rain, you get an atmospheric flip and nitrogen and ozone are down At ground level, so they can’t Smell you , again it puts you at a great advantage, when usually they have the advantage…,
