I have done my part by not buying anything since the great hoarding of 2020. If everyone would settle down and live a while off the hoard you already have, I bet prices would start to come back down.

I have a moderate amount of 6mm brass if you reload. Willing to part with a few pieces.

Thank you a ton, but I don't reload. But it maybe time to rethink that?

plenty of stock of most rounds, plus bulk.

You saying I can find some .30-06 now?

With the war in Ukraine, ammo may be limited for a while.

My perception is ammo prices are dropping at least at academy.

They’re dropping steadily. The longer people don’t buy everything we see the more it’ll fall

I'm getting another box of Longbeard #5 3 inch, just because.

I haven't paid the stupid prices in store in over a year, they've been out of whack, even before the big wave of inflation. Prices online have been trending up too. I wait and buy when I find something below what the trend has been, like buying a stock on a dip. I got 9mm a couple weeks ago for .27

Bought a separate .556 upper solely to shoot steel at cheaper prices

I have a semi local ammo supplier that consistently puts out ammo cheaper than just about anywhere else so I buy it in bulk and drive there to avoid shipping costs

The big stores never dropped their price, even when inventory went up, frick dem

Yes, when everyone’s inventory is flush, capitalism will drive prices down.

Plenty of Norma to be had, I didn't look further than that

Their 9mm prices have went up, I made a couple orders through them a few months back but my local has them beat

Haven't checked Academy in awhile, but it seems like the market in general is trying to normalize 9mm @ around $17-19 a box of 50, with $15 being the 'deal' price.

Looks like brass 556 is going to hang out about $550 a case or higher.

At the prices I've seen, that's the only stuff I plan on shooting in this caliber for the foreseeable future, that and x39.

Most of the steel stuff will be gone in a few months once the Russian stock dwindles down and the import contracts expire. Once that happens, who knows what will happen to the market.

I am not necessarily against having a couple of boxes of long beard #5's because i have had to switch to Double X's and it doesn't pattern like the Longbeards

Man I still can't find any 3030 ammo anywhere ever unless I want to pay 3x. Which I'm not.

It’s a weird feeling wanting ammo for your gun, but not wanting to pay $3 a round. Like buying stocks, you’re wondering if it’s on the way up or down.

Yeah... and who hasn't looked into making their own by now? I'm willing to bet almost any gun owner that actually uses his firearms at all has seen how much goes into it. Full commitment situation. Must have time and start up costs.

Sure would be nice if Walmart started selling 9mm and .223 again.
There's a place nearby called Adventure Outdoors that's supposedly the biggest gun store in the world. They have tons of ammo now but prices still suck. 50 rounds of 9mm brass FMJ for $20 when it used to be $10.

I endorse handloading, but primers are still "unobtanium." While bass, powder and bullets are starting to show up, primers are still AWOL.
