That's a beautiful pistol, but slightly more expensive than a Kahr.

lil bit
Accurate little fricker though. And FWIW, whatever you decide on, I suggest a stoner backpocket holster (

shot an LCP yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. I plan to hold off buying until I can find a Kahr CW380 to check out, but would have no problem owning the LCP

There are plenty of 9mm pistols that are small enough for pocket carry -- which seems to be your preference. Check out the Kahrs -- PM9, CM9 and CW9 models. Or the M&P Shield -- it will work in "larger" pockets, like the CW9.
I disagree with this and agree with Uncle Jack who said:

xI disagree. I had an LC9, which is one of the smallest 9's out there, and it was very uncomfortable pocket carrying.
And Smack who said:

Actually, most CC teachers recommend getting a gun you will carry.
While a 380 is obviously not ideal and powerful as a 9mm, that point is nil if that is the difference between you carrying a gun or not. The 380 has an amazing portability factor that subcompact 9mms don't have. My Kahr CM9 can be carried in SOME pockets, whereas a Kahr 380 can be carried in virtually ALL pockets.
I do agree that if he plans to carry in the waistband, a 9mm should be his minimum. But if he looks at pocket carry, the 380 beats the 9mm due to weighing less and having smaller dimensions.

I know my 9mm isn't in the same price range as the others, but its specs are almost identical to the LCP. Not uncomfortable at all.

When you're talking about pocket carry, every half ounce of weight counts. A loaded 9mm magazine with 124gr+ ammo will be a good bit heavier than a loaded mag of 90gr 380 rounds. Add the heavier recoil spring, heavier guide rod, heavier slide, heavier barrel, and slightly larger frame and slide, and the weight difference starts to stack up.

That is certainly understandable, but after carrying both, I don't really feel much difference in the two.

No offense intended, and I'm sure you mean well, but I put a little more stock in the opinions of Clint Smith, Tom Givens, Louis Awerbuck and a dozen more world trainers, plus a few decades of actual concealed carry experience.
Internet research has its place, but isn't a substitute for real training.

Both views are valid. From a strictly defense pov, you want the larger caliber. However, me and many others have to choose our gun to fit our clothing and not vice versa. Like I said, I have larger caliber pistols I carry if my clothing allows comfortable CC. Due to my usual wardrobe though, I generally carry my .380. A .22 is better than nothing.

Your point is well-written and valid. And it isn't my goal to try to persuade you to change your habits. My initial post, with which some have disagreed, was in response to the OP's query.
I will add three comments from Clint Smith (one of the "gurus of the gurus, who owns and operates Thunder Ranch) --- and for what it's worth, I heard the comments directly from Clint during a three-day defensive pistol course (I didn't read them on an Internet forum).
1. "Too many people make the mistake of choosing a small pistol, because it's easy to conceal, instead of making reasonable accommodations to carry a reasonably sized weapon. "
2. "Carrying a handgun was never meant to be comfortable. It's supposed to be comforting."
3. "If someone is carrying a handgun that is truly comfortable, he has probably picked the wrong gun."
Again, the comments above aren't from me --- they are from one of the most (if not THE most) respected trainers in the country. And the beauty of the Internet is that anyone who disagrees with him can post their opinions on gun forums. So feel free to do so.
Heck, if somebody wants to debate this with Clint, send me an email and I'll give you his cell phone number.

To paraphrase from another poster on this board:
"Plenty of people in the cemetery have been killed with .380s."
I think everyone realizes they'll be better off with a Sig 226 or 1911 strapped to their hip, but it's not very realistic for every day use.

Just shot my LCP 30 minutes ago and it felt just fine?

My wife and I took a class in March. Mrs. Skuter brought her dad's snub nose .38 that we had taken to the range a couple of times preparing her for the class. She didn't like the recoil but that's all we had. Instructor told her that a .22 WMR was fine for CC and now she has her mind set on that's what she wants. I'm not too happy about it but if that's the only thing she is comfortable carrying.

100% agree with you and I highly respect your opinion. You obviously have more experience under your belt and I wasn't trying to insult your accolades in any way.
Just for the average citizen, sometimes a larger gun doesn't always fit the bill. For example, someone who is in scrubs all day can't carry IWB, so the next best thing is 380 pocket carry. That's all I was saying.
Respect.

Anyone happen to know where I can find a Kahr P380 or CW380?
