Ok baws, I'm not into the 200 dollar ice chests, but I do want a quality cooler that can retain ice/ coldness like a Yeti or Pelican or Engel, etc. I'm looking for a suggestion on a small carry type, like a Yeti 20 or so-flip/zip top, and a suggestion on a larger size, like a 50 plus qt type.

I have the walmart soft side knock off.

Very pleased with the results so far. I wouldn't have bought this one, it was a Bday present but I'm very pleased with it so far.

Those 5 day, marine ice chests, are plenty good enough.

Just missed the RTIC sale. They were priced cheaper than the Ozark Trails. I've heard good things about them but haven't personally tried one.

New RTICs should be out in a few weeks if you want to wait.

Edit: Personally havent tried the Ozark trails...as for my RTIC

What you're wanting is probably around $200 worth of ice chest. RTIC is going to be your best bet.

*Igloo Marine are good ice chests for a day on the boat if that's what your wanting it for. I find myself using those more than my bigger Yeti because its easier to move around by myself.

I have an RTIC 20, the 65 and the soft side. Not a complaint one on any of them.

How often does RTIC have this sale?

This was a one time thing as they had to get rid of their old stuff and "redesign" because of settlement with Yeti. Based on few pictures I've seen, wasn't much redesign. Their normal prices are way lower than Yetis anyways and work just as good.

I stopped by buc'ee's between Tyler and Dallas and they had some RTICs on sale last weekend. I got a 65 qt for $130. I think the 45 qt was $100

Pretty low. I bought a RTIC 45 for $122 compared to the 45 YETI prices at $350

I'll probably get murder for this, but my Coleman extreme keeps ice longer than my yeti

but will it last as long? Can you use it as a seat? platform? Why does anyone need to keep ice for 3 or 4 days?

Only time I need ice for 3 or 4 days is when i'm blooding a deer. That's why i want to get a 145. Other than that, I'm in and out of an ice chest too much for it to be effective. I do like the toughness of them to leave in the truck.

They are all two years old. They are also a third the price.

Me? For a seat yes. My yeti is cracked from me standing on it. I'm fat

3 or 4 days sealed means 12 hours grabbing beers every time you're thirsty.

Never understood this for the normal person. If I am being honest the cooler I have used more than any other is an Igloo Playmate. It's easy to carry, is small enough to uses in the car, and holds ice long enough. I usually put a half inch to an inch of water in it, drop it in the chest freezer the day before I need it. Keeps cold all day.

Sams Club has their version (I assume made by the same company) for $174, but it's not a carry, it's a roller one, I think about a 40Qt capacity.
