On the bright side, if he's left with moderate function but a loss of sensitivity it could allow for a better "pretend it's a stranger" experience.

Wouldn't happen with a 1911 cuz you don't have to pull the trigger to disassemble. :)

This is one reason I stick with wheel guns. Never have to take them apart and easy to flip the cylinder open and make sure the chamber is clear.

Oh yeah, Flair chops added that thread to the OB culture sticky at the top of the page. I sat back and read through the whole thread last night. I enjoyed the stroll through my season.
