I have the 9mm M&P shield and I like it. Bought it back in 2016.

You sure about that?

Glock 43x

The 48 is listed as a compact but it isn’t much bigger.

It doesn’t get much better than a G 48 with the Shield Arms 15rd mags. It’s small enough to CCW with a great sight radius and 15 rd mag capability.

Yeah, Glock lists the 43X as a "sub compact," but what difference does it make? There's no agreement in the industry defining all these different terms. Micro, sub compact, compact, etc. Until there's agreement w/in the industry, they're just labels. The 43X, 43 and 42 are all "subcompacts." Compared to the 43, the 43X has a grip 3/4" longer and an overall length 1/2" longer; yet, they're both subcompacts. I don't pay any attention to the label, I look at the measurements. My main issue w/ the 43X is that the main objectives could've been accomplished by Glock offering a factory extended mag w/ 9-10 rounds. But there's a LOT more money to be made by Glock selling a new model of gun compared to a new model magazine.

Yes. You included the 48 in "subcompacts." If I said nothing else, you'd still be wrong.

Just to rub it in a bit:

quote:

With an extensive history of reliability and durability, GLOCK has expanded the product line by introducing two compact slimline pistols; ideal for everyday carry. Chambered in 9X19, both pistols feature a compact, and a 10-round magazine capacity. While the two pistols share the same size frame, they each have different slide lengths. The slide for the G43X is the same sub-compact length as the G43 (6.06 in) while the G48 has a compact length (6.85 in).

I ended up buying the S&W Shield 9mm at Academy for 240 bucks after price match. For that kind of money I don't think I could find a better pistol. I appreciate all the help and advice.

Pics don't do it justice either. I handled one at Academy today and it just feels so much thinner.
There's a local store that actually has some of the Shield Arms mags but they're marked up to $60 each.

Found an extensive post from you on prepping. According to people on here you’re the expert. I thought I’d reach out for advice on starting a group of likeminded folks in my area in case stuff should pop off.
