Debating between a Henry, older marlin, or older ruger carbine. Can't decide.

My dad has an old lever action. I like it.

I'd go lever, but I'm a sucker for a lever action. I just love the way the look and work.

I've been thinking about a 357 Henry myself. Have a 17 golden boy and love it. I say lever for sure.

I would get the Henry lever action in a heartbeat...in fact, a couple of Henry lever guns have been on my list for a long time.

Get an older marlin with a set of skinner peep sights.

older Ruger carbine

This is the ticket...if you can find one.

I've had mine for 20+ years and it's compact, easy to use and extremely effective.

ps...also makes for an excellent home protection firearm

Lever action. I have a very old Marlin and use it every season. Mines .30-30 though

A buddy bought me 2 Henry lever actions, one is a 44 mag. I have never been a lever gun guy, but I love those golden boys!

Have both. The carbine is real fun to shoot. Hand loads, it is good to about 125 yards for deer.

I'd go lever myself...and then talk my wife into letting me have a .44 mag revolver as well...I mean a man has to have a set, right? Otherwise they'll get lonely and walk out of the gun safe and may make bad decisions.

I have a lever .444. It's far and away my favorite rifle.
