35’6” Razorhead Cat Build

Figured I’d share a few pics from my buddy’s custom cat that just got finished up by Jory over at Razorhead. I drew up some custom stuff for it (I’m a Naval Architect by trade) and Jory and his team knocked them out the park.
Timmayy and I will be helping our buddy outfit the entire boat and I’ll update with some pics in here when I can remember to. He’s an electrical engineer that just started up his own marine electric company so project should be in good hands.
He just took delivery of a nice 4x8 CNC machine so that will be used to help finish out the boat.
Some custom boxes built underneath the t-top at the connection to the center console to house some speakers and lights. The corners of the t-top also have 45° miters to house some spreader lights.
Custom arm rest box designed for the captains seats that will house a screen that will have capabilities to control music and the main GPS screens and a few switches on it as well.
This cut out in the seat is going to house some leader holders.
Speakers will be flush mounted in these boxes and the channels on either side will house some lumitec lights.

Nice looking Hull do you know who designed it? Haven’t heard of Razorhead before.

Boat will be getting painted and wrapped so should help some.

I don’t honestly. I know they have some Nav Arc stamped drawings but not sure who it is that designed it.

Gotcha I am a nav arch myself and was curious. That curved tunnel looks great and the Hull steps should help it scoot. Probably will end up weighing less than a freeman. What engine package they going with? Keep the build progress updates going

Damn I forgot you were one as well. Yeah it looks like a great hull design. It has significantly more freeboard than the freeman.
Going with twin 350 Suzuki’s with the counter rotating props.

Thatll make a hell of a good war horse! I'm jealous as hell. What screens are going in it?

If only I could hit the damn powerball. Don’t think the wife would allow a multi year build so I could afford one haha. Aluminum is the way to go. Life time hull.

It’s gonna have two 24” Simrad NSO in the console, a Simrad NSS9 in a Navpod mount on the captains seat armrest, and a Simrad MO16 monitor in the back of the seat facing aft so you can see it while fishing from back deck.
This should help show what that NSS9 will look like.

Put a joystick control in that armrest. Then you can sit back and steer.

Armrest looks like it'll be a back breaker when you're standing(mpst of the time). I'd taper it the other way, or even beteer is a flip up arm rest. You can still put AP controls in thatif you do it right

Damn thats nice, thanks for sharing and keep the updates coming if you think about it.

Oh yea thats slick as owl shite.

The armrest was a good idea, but i think it should have been in the ttop and you reach up and control it, that way you'd still have that seating space
Any idea of the hull cost?

That would defeat the purpose of the screen itself. It's meant to be able to control while kicked back relaxing on AP.
If you have to stand up and reach up, you just as soon reach forward and use the main screen controls. And looking at the size of that leaning post, no one would ever sit 3 wide there anyway. 3 Llebroc's aren't fitting on that width.

I'd be interested in seeing some fuel burn calculations with twin 350's.......seems a touch underpowered compared to some of the big cat hull's I've seen lately with quads.

Please keep posting….love these threads. That’s gonna be a badass bitch!

I don’t see it being underpowered. A boat cruising at 40 isn’t underpowered but maybe when you compare it to a quad powered 37’ cruising at 55.
Also those 37’ have another foot a beam width and will be significantly heavier. I believe peace marvels razorhead is a 36x11’6 and he’s running it with twin zuke 350s.
The only thing is may need to swap props to get her up on one motor. Think want to try 24 pitch duo props for when there’s two motors and then have a 19 pitch set for one motor down operation.
Good thing about the duoprops is the motors are not counter rotating so only need one set as a backup. But I guess a set is two props so it’s six one half a dozen.
